12 Shows Like Sirens to Watch If You’re Craving More Scandalous Family Drama and Slow-Burn Suspense

Hey hey Sirens fans, craving more salacious family drama? We’ve got you covered.

The limited series stars Meghann Fahy as Devon, a sharp-tongued outsider pulled into the tangled world of the ultra-privileged Kell family, for whom her younger sister Simone (Milly Alcock) works as a personal assistant.

Devon is suspicious of Simone’s borderline creepy relationship with her boss, Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore), and ambushes her with an intervention at the Kells’ island home. But the longer she stays, the more she fears that the ethereal socialite is hiding something deadly.

The series also stars Kevin Bacon as billionaire patriarch and Michaela’s husband Peter Kell and Glenn Howerton as the family’s long-time neighbor, Ethan Corbin.

Sirens premiered on Netflix on May 22 as an adaptation from series creator and executive producer Molly Smith Metzler’s play Elemeno Pea. Though it received praise for its menacing performances and biting tension, it’s far from the only show to expose dark family secrets and the price of privilege against a stunning backdrop.

From cultish family dynamics to whodunits set in lavish locales, here are 12 shows fans of Sirens should add to their watch list.

The Perfect Couple

Love a beachside mansion full of secrets? Especially one run by a manipulative matriarch? The Perfect Couple checks all those boxes and then some, following a wealthy family’s chaotic wedding weekend where secrets, lies and a washed-up body threaten to unravel their carefully crafted image.

The series gets bonus points for its star-studded cast featuring Nicole Kidman and Siren’s own Fahy.

The White Lotus

Picture-perfect vacations turn into slow-motion disasters in HBO’s uber-popular anthology series The White Lotus. Each season takes place at a different White Lotus property where the entitled guests and the dedicated staff who serve them collide in a mess of secrets, betrayals and unexpected deaths.

Fahy — a staple in thrillers about rich people problems — starred in the second season alongside Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza.

Nine Perfect Strangers

A luxury wellness retreat promising transformation delivers something much darker in Nine Perfect Strangers. Like Moore in Sirens, Kidman plays an enigmatic leader with a disturbing obsession with exerting control over her guests, who are made up of a buzzy ensemble cast.

Though the first season of this anthology series shares a similar beachy backdrop as the Cliff House, the second shifts to a snowy mountain resort, which only heightens the suspense.

Palm Royale

Fans who loved Devon’s sharp wit in Sirens will find a kindred spirit in Palm Royale’s Maxine (Kristen Wiig), a woman who schemes her way into the inner circle of Palm Beach’s most exclusive country club.

Though it’s much lighter than Sirens and set in the 1960s, the comedy-drama also explores how far people will go to fit in with the rich and elite.

Revenge

ABC’s twisty series Revenge may be over a decade old, but its high-stakes tale of calculated payback still has fans talking. The series stars Emily VanCamp as a mysterious outsider who infiltrates Hampton’s high society to take down the people responsible for destroying her life.

Like Sirens, the show features a picture-perfect family whose glamorous facade may be hiding dangerous secrets.

The Better Sister

The dysfunction between Devon and Simone is nothing compared to Chloe and Nicky’s in The Better Sister. Following the murder of Chloe’s husband (and Nicky’s former boyfriend), the estranged sisters are forced back into each other’s lives — along with all the secrets they tried to leave buried in the past.

Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks star in this juicy domestic thriller where every revelation brings new questions about what really happened the night of the murder.

The Path

Cult behavior is implied in Sirens, but it’s on full display in The Path. The Hulu series follows Eddie Lane (Aaron Paul), who converts to a controversial movement called Meyerism, only to suffer a crisis of faith just as his role in the organization begins to rise.

Though it doesn’t have all the glitz and glam of the Kell family, The Path also peels back the curtain on charismatic leaders and the disturbing truths they’re desperate to keep hidden.

Bad Sisters

Up for more dysfunctional family drama with a side of potential murder? Bad Sisters offers up as much dark humor as Sirens, following a group of fiercely loyal sisters who may or may not have had a hand in their brother-in-law’s untimely death.

Set in Ireland, the series stars Sharon Horgan and The Perfect Couple’s Eve Hewson.

Sharp Objects

Sharp Objects is moodier and more intense than Sirens, but similarly centers on an affluent family hiding dark pasts beneath a polished facade. Amy Adams stars as a journalist who returns to her Missouri hometown to investigate two girls’ deaths while facing her complicated relationship with her mother and younger sister.

More than just a murder mystery, this Golden Globe-winning miniseries, adapted from Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name, is a deep dive into family trauma and the fraught bonds between sisters.

Big Little Lies

Kidman has yet another incredible performance in a gripping drama about the dark undercurrents of a wealthy coastal community in California. Like Sirens, Big Little Lies unpacks the complexities of female friendships and hidden turmoil within privileged families.

A-listers Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Zoë Kravitz join Kidman in bringing Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel to life.

Mildred Pierce

In this 2011 miniseries, Kate Winslet stars as a single mother who — despite building a successful restaurant business from scratch during the Great Depression — can’t keep up with the demands of her spoiled daughter, Veda (Evan Rachel Wood).

With similar themes of ambition, family tension and hidden turmoil, Mildred Pierce echoes Sirens’ exploration of the high personal costs of ambition.

Desperate Housewives

It’s not a sprawling oceanfront estate, but the white picket fences of Wisteria Lane offer just as much of a facade. The iconic, long-running drama Desperate Housewives unravels the scandals lurking beneath the surface of a seemingly perfect suburban street.

Like Sirens, it masterfully blends dark humor with sharp drama, starring Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Eva Longoria in a beloved ensemble cast.
