3 Underrated Netflix Movies to Watch This Weekend (June 20–22)

Why is it so easy to forget about great movies?
Some movies become valuable additions to your rewatch list for years to come, but there are so many others you watch, love — and then never think about again. Netflix is a treasure trove of movies you may have forgotten about.
Whether you’ve seen these three films way back in the day or they’re completely new to you, the Watch With Us team thinks you should check out these three underrated movies.
They’re all on Netflix and feature actors like Emily Blunt, Jack O’Connell and Zoey Deutch.
‘Unbroken’ (2014)
If Jack O’Connell terrified you as the charismatic vampire in Sinners, prepare to see a completely different side of the actor’s talents in this biopic based on an incredible true story. Capt. Louis “Louie” Zamperini (O’Connell) is an Olympic runner who becomes a pilot in World War II. After a plane crash leaves him stranded at sea, he is captured by the Japanese and held as a prisoner of war. His antagonistic relationship with the sadistic Sgt. Mutsuhiro “The Bird” Watanabe (Miyavi) makes him a target for torture and torment, but he maintains his dignity and strength throughout his captivity.
Though it hits many of the familiar beats of the typical war biopic, Unbroken is anchored by the strong performance from O’Connell and the shocking scale of this true survival story that was directed by Angelina Jolie.
‘Set It Up’ (2018)
Ever felt like your boss was ruining your life? We’ve all been there. In this romantic comedy from Booksmart writer Katie Silberman, assistants Harper (Deutch) and Charlie (Glen Powell) bond over their extremely demanding bosses (Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs). When they realize their personal lives are being destroyed by their bosses’ total work obsession, they decide to push the duo to fall in love. Using their complete control over their bosses’ calendars as well as their intimate knowledge of their likes and dislikes, they engineer perfect meet-cutes and run damage control on any romantic missteps — and of course, end up falling in love with each other along the way.
This charming film is full of funny moments, with a great supporting cast that includes Pete Davidson as Charlie’s roommate and Tituss Burgess as a maintenance worker who doesn’t mind being called “Creepy Tim.”
‘The Five-Year Engagement’ (2012)
Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star in this rom-com about a couple whose circumstances keep getting in the way of their impending nuptials. Tom (Segel), a chef, and Violet (Blunt), an academic, are happily engaged, but when a new research position requires the couple to move from sunny San Francisco to frigid Michigan, they put the wedding on hold — and every delay causes them to question more elements of their relationship.
The supporting cast in this hilarious movie includes comedy all-stars like Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Mindy Kaling and many more, making it a delightful ride with a warm-hearted ending.
