Helicopter company provides Ubers for fliers freaked out by Hudson chopper crash

Celebrity-loved helicopter service Blade planned to chopper its guests to a chic party to celebrate the launch of its social club, Le Chéile.
But after the horror Hudson helicopter crash that killed six people last week, the firm decided to offer Ubers to the bash at JFK’s TWA Hotel.
Blade sent out an email guests, seen by Page Six, emphasizing it had “no involvement in Thursday’s tragic accident,” adding that it “does not conduct helicopter tours nor use the same type of helicopter.”
“Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and we are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred on Thursday,” says the email. “Since your comfort and safety is our top priority, we are providing additional information and alternative options for getting to the Le Chéile launch party to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible.”
The chopper chic brand is offering uneasy guests black car service or an Uber voucher out to the hotel for the party which promises dancing, drinks and a surprise performance.
Le Chéile offers “curated local events” and access to “once-in-a-lifetime group trips to destinations worldwide.”
For those who still want to catch a sky-high ride to the party, Blade assures them that their “internal safety protocols go above and beyond the already strict standards of rotorcraft aviation and differ significantly from what is required of tour operators. Every [Blade] aircraft, pilot and flight is held to the most rigorous procedures.”
The FAA has issued an emergency order to ground the company, New York Helicopter Charter.
