Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s ‘awkward’ interactions decoded by body language expert amid feud rumors

Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick’s red carpet appearances for their “Another Simple Favor” press tour were labeled as “awkward” by a body language expert.

Expert Judi James decoded the co-stars’ double appearance at the Ham Yard Hotel and the Corinthia Hotel in London on Tuesday.

“Blake seems to be investing more when it comes to doing the heavy lifting of looking happy and amiable,” she told the Daily Mail.

“It could be the pressure to visually deny rumors of some kind of a rift that is causing their un-relaxed-looking poses, but they’re not seeming to project any sense of an easy-going relationship here,” James continued.

James claimed there was a sense of “awkwardness or self-consciousness” about Lively, 37, and Kendrick’s “rigid-looking” stances.

She noted that the duo should be comfortable and have fun posing together after they spent months filming their forthcoming movie.

“Blake and Anna do have a height differential to deal with but there are few signs of relaxed and authentic fun or rapport here,” James continued.

She explained there was “no inward leaning or playful touches or movement” between the two.

“They also seem to lack synchronization,” James added. “Standing almost face-to face the arms round each other’s backs looked self-consciously placed rather than part of a partial hugging ritual.”

James, however, alleged the “Gossip Girl” alum glowed and soaked “up the camera attention” when posing alone.

Lively went “into preen mode, luxuriating and purring in front of the cameras with some preening hair flicks and some puckered, confident, self-satisfied smiles,” she explained.

The “Age of Adaline” star and Kendrick put on a united front at Tuesday’s photocall after the latter allegedly shaded her co-star at SXSW.

When asked on the red carpet how the “Pitch Perfect” star felt about reuniting with Lively for the “A Simple Favor” prequel, the latter awkwardly smiled and responded, “Oh, you know …” while walking away.

Lively, however, shared it was “the best” to work with Kendrick.

“Another Simple Favor” will be released on May 1 via Amazon Prime.
