Peter Kraus is getting married!
Kraus, who was the runner-up on season 13 of The Bachelorette, proposed to his girlfriend Hana Ostapchuk just in time for the holiday weekend.
The couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post on July 4, as Kraus wrote, “Throughout it all, it was always you. I just had to find you. I love you.”
He got down on one knee on the night of Thursday, July 3, he revealed in the caption.
“Words cannot express the love and happiness we feel,” Kraus continued. “Last night was truly magical and only possible because of an amazing support system of incredible people in our lives! We are so thankful.”
The 11 photos included in the carousel showed the stunning waterfront proposal and captured the couple’s emotions at the engagement, and they then got on board a boat and watched fireworks while cuddled together in celebration.
Kraus also thanked his parents and his new fiancée’s family “for giving us your blessings and love” ahead of the proposal.
“We are ENGAGED!! 💍🤍🍾,” the caption concluded.
Several Bachelor Nation faces celebrated Kraus’ exciting news in the comments, including Ashley Iaconetti, who wrote, “Wow! This is seriously magical!! Congratulations!!!”
Dean Unglert, who also competed on Rachel Lindsay’s season alongside Kraus, wrote, “congrats dood!! ❤️❤️.” Their former costar Adam Gottschalk added, “The journey, the pictures, the next chapter ❤️❤️ congrats man 🙌🙌.”
After Kraus’ emotional departure from The Bachelorette in 2017, Lindsay got engaged to Bryan Abasolo, whom she married in 2019. Abasolo filed for divorce in January 2024, and the couple settled their divorce a year later.

When her season aired, Lindsay told PEOPLE she “constantly got this push and this pull” with Kraus, but confirmed that it wasn’t just his hesitance to propose that swayed her opinion.
“There were other deep-rooted issues in my relationship with him,” she said. “There’s no denying I didn’t care about Peter, I just knew he wasn’t the one for me.”
