Colin Jost Reacts to Jonathan Bailey Kissing Wife Scarlett Johansson: ‘I Guess We Have to Kiss Now?’

Colin Jost is taking Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey’s recent PDA in his stride!

The Jurassic World Rebirth costars made headlines last month after they greeted each other with a kiss on the lips at various red carpet premieres to promote their dinosaur blockbuster. According to Jost, however, he has nothing to worry about.

“I guess in Jurassic Park terms, the attack always comes from the raptor you never thought was there. Of all the threats out there, I wasn’t thinking it was Jonathan,” Jost, 43, quipped in an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Thursday, July 10.

“I think it’s going to be OK,” the Saturday Night Live star continued to joke. After all, he noted, “Jonathan is an out gay man. It didn’t seem like the biggest threat.”

Turning more serious for a moment, Jost said, “People really blow it out of proportion when someone kisses their friend hello.”

Should there ever be a sequel to Jurassic World Rebirth, the comedian joked that maybe we’ll see him smooch the Bridgerton heartthrob, 37, on the red carpet instead of his wife.

“Jonathan and I, at the red carpet, we were like, ‘I guess we have to kiss now? Is that what happens? Close the loop?’” he said.

Bailey recently addressed his viral moments with Johansson, 40, telling ET, “I believe in being able to show love in all different ways. And if you can’t kiss your friends … life’s too short not to.”

For his part, Jost was on the red carpet with Johansson and Bailey at the Jurassic World Rebirth premiere in New York City on June 23 and couldn’t take his eyes off his wife.

Just months earlier in May, it was Johansson and Jost who packed on the PDA at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The couple shared a sweet kiss during a screening of Johansson’s directorial debut, Eleanor the Great, at the French festival on May 20.

Jost and Johansson began dating in 2017 and tied the knot in October 2020. The couple share a son, Cosmo, 3. Johansson is also the mom of daughter Rose, 10, whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

The Oscar-nominated actress made rare comments about Rose in June, saying she’d be comfortable with her daughter watching Jurassic World Rebirth.

“I’ve been talking to some other Jurassic fans, and they say this is the scariest one, but I would let my daughter see it,” she told E! News.

Johansson added, “It’s still appropriate for the family. You just gotta watch it through the crack in your fingers.”
