Travis Hunter’s Wife Posts Crying Video While Reflecting on ‘Shackles’ of Social Media

Leanna Lenee, the wife of Jacksonville Jaguars player Travis Hunter, reflected on her up-and-down year with an emotional post via social media.
Lenee, 23, shared an old video of herself crying on the bathroom floor via TikTok on Saturday, July 19, writing, “I wish I could go back and hug December me 🥹.”
“I don’t even recognize this girl anymore,” Lenee added. “The amount you can grown [sic] and develop in just 6 months of devoting your life to Jesus and getting away from the shackles of the world and social media is truly astounding.”
She continued, “I wish the peace I found within Jesus on everyone who reads this. ❤️ Your identity in him matters, not how people choose to perceive you.”
Lenee received an overwhelming amount of support in the comments section, including from WNBA star Angel Reese.
“So proud of you bby! the storm doesn’t last forever! 🙏🏽🥺,” Reese, 23, wrote.
Lenee responded, “Love u & thankful for your encouragement through it all 🩷 xoxo.”
In December 2024, Lenee was in the midst of a flurry of controversy and criticism that eventually led to her deleting her social media accounts.
Most of the drama centered around the week of the Heisman Trophy ceremony, when videos circulated of Lenee allegedly looking upset at an Adidas pop-up shop in New York City while Hunter, 22, posed for photographs with fans.
At the Heisman ceremony itself on December 14, Lenee was called out by some critics on social media for not looking excited enough when Hunter’s name was called as the winner.
During a Twitch live stream the day after the ceremony, Hunter said Lenee had cried herself to sleep.
“She drunk an OD amount tonight for no reason,” he explained. “It’s hard on me because I can’t even help her.”
In a TikTok video posted on December 16, Lenee addressed the multiple controversies surrounding her behavior and relationship with Hunter.
“The things that I see people make up is truly crazy, because it’s not what happened,” she said. “I just think people are finding every single little thing and trying to make it something it’s not. Bird brain individuals are just accepting what they see online.”
Hunter and Lenee got married in Tennessee in May, one month after the Jaguars selected Hunter with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“On 02/26/2022 you first asked me to be your girlfriend,” Lenee posted via Instagram after reactivating her accounts. “Now 3.5 years later, on 05/24/2025, I became your wife. You make me the happiest woman on this planet and I am so excited to spend forever with you.”
