Travis Kelce Jokes Dating Taylor Swift Is Like Being Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’

Travis Kelce has no shame being No. 2 in his relationship with Taylor Swift.

During the Wednesday, July 23, episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Travis, 35, and Jason Kelce gave their highly anticipated review of Pretty Woman for the latest installment of their movie club. Travis said he thought the 1990 rom-com was “fantastic” despite not knowing one major aspect of its plot.

“I’m not gonna lie, when we first started, I really didn’t know that it was about her being a hooker,” Travis said, joking, “Didn’t know Julia Roberts signed up for that one.”

Jason, 37, confessed he was equally surprised by the character, who gets wooed by wealthy businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere). The retired NFL player added that he appreciated the movie’s depiction of class.

The brothers went on to rate Pretty Woman in a variety of categories, including plot, acting performances and feminism. Jason pointed out that some viewers have called the movie “misogynistic” but admitted he’s not the best person to explore whether that’s true.

“I think the only way to gauge it is to flip the script,” Travis said. “I think we need to make Pretty Man. We need to have a CEO billionaire woman be so high-class that she doesn’t know where she’s going, she doesn’t know how to drive a car.”

Jason then poked fun at his brother’s romance with the pop star, which began in summer 2023. “You’re basically living Pretty Man right now,” he teased.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end burst into laughter and quipped, “I’m wearing nothing but a tie when Taylor comes home,” referring to one of Pretty Woman‘s most memorable scenes.

Taking the joke one step further, Travis remembered meeting Roberts, 57, at one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in the U.K. last summer. “That’s why when I met Julia, it felt like we were the same person,” he said. “She spoke to me in this movie. … I’m just an NFL stripper. That’s it. I’m just an NFL hooker, man.”

Travis has proven to be Swift’s biggest cheerleader since they started dating — and he hasn’t shied away from singing her praises publicly. Earlier this month, he was caught gushing over Swift at the American Century Championship golf tournament.

In a video shared via social media, a fan called to Travis, “You have the best girlfriend in the world,” and he didn’t hesitate to agree. “Good point,” Travis replied.

The couple have largely been laying low throughout the NFL offseason, with both Travis and Swift enjoying downtime in their typically busy schedules. “They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention,” an insider exclusively revealed to Us Weekly in June, insisting, “There isn’t trouble in paradise.”

Fans have seen glimpses of the duo on date nights in Philadelphia, Florida and Nashville throughout the summer, and with the NFL season on the horizon, it’s likely Swift will be back at Arrowhead Stadium cheering on the Chiefs.
