Kelly Clarkson’s ex-assistant Brittney Marie Jones cheated on husband with Brandon Blackstock: source

Kelly Clarkson’s former assistant allegedly cheated on her husband with Brandon Blackstock, Page Six has exclusively learned.

A source alleges that Brittney Marie Jones and the music executive had an affair, which her now-ex-husband, Greg LaPoint, found out about in the summer of 2023.

“He got screwed over due to [Jones and Blackstock’s] fling starting during his marriage,” the insider claims.

Court documents obtained by Page Six show the former assistant wed the Gypsy Nights drummer on Aug. 13, 2021. He still has traces of his marriage on social media.

An Instagram post the “Favorite Escape” rocker shared on Sept. 11, 2022 reads, “It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we said, ‘I do.’”

“I can not imagine a world without you by my side, a partner who is as real as they come. A lover, cuddler and sure spit fire. I am forever grateful I get to call you my wife,” he added.

While LaPoint pointed out at the time that relationships come with ups and downs, he concluded his heartfelt post by writing, “I will always be the one you can count on to lift you up.”

We’re told when LaPoint found out about his wife’s alleged affair, he asked her immediately to file for divorce. She did so on July 13, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences,” per court records we obtained.

Jones, however, listed her and the “Late Last Year” rocker’s date of separation as January 2023 — yet LaPoint posted a photo of them looking happy on a hike that same month.

Their divorce was finalized by February 2024, per the court records. Jones did not return Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.

Although Jones was allegedly unfaithful, multiple sources tell Page Six exclusively that Blackstock did not cheat on Clarkson with Jones.

Two sources claim the music exec and “Since U Been Gone” singer were divorced “long before” his relationship with the ex-assistant started.

The second insider also notes, though, that Blackstock “slipped away to Montana” following his highly publicized split, therefore many of the exact details surrounding his romance were kept private.

The public learned that Jones was romantically involved with Blackstock when an obituary published following his recent death from cancer stated she was the exec’s “beautiful and loving partner in life and business” and that they had started “building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction.”

They had known each other for many years, as Jones worked for Clarkson while the talk show host was dealing with marital issues, from 2018 to 2022, managing her day to day schedules, per her LinkedIn.

Jones was also Blackstock’s executive assistant during the time she worked for Clarkson, and then continued working for the talent exec’s Valley View Rodeo.

Clarkson has never commented on the cheating rumors. She noted in court docs that the “level of conflict” between the “Because of You” singer and the father of her two children had “increased” as they had “a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”

Page Six recently learned that Blackstock had been living with Jones leading up to his final moments. Public records show she resided at his nearly $1.7 million Montana mansion as of at least April 2024.

Blackstock had been single for many years at that point, though, as he split from Clarkson in 2020 and their divorce was finalized in 2022.

Clarkson reportedly did not have warm feelings about her ex’s new romance, though. A source recently told the Daily Mail that the relationship was “the icing on the cake of the disappointment.”

However, the two women still found a way to get along, as the insider claimed, “Kelly knew that Brittney wasn’t going to be a problem with her and her kids, there was never a misunderstanding between them.”

Jones was seemingly head over heels about Blackstock, though, as the the ex-assistant’s father recently gushed via Facebook that the businessman was his daughter’s true “soulmate.”

“Yesterday we lost a good man Brandon Blackstock my daughter’s soulmate and I considered him my son,” he wrote after the music manager lost his three-year melanoma battle at age 48.

Reps for Blackstock and Clarkson did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
