Inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s ‘very normal’ summer with family — and their crazy autumn ahead

It’s been anything but a “cruel summer” for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
America’s golden couple have been enjoying a season of love and PDAs — and a surprisingly mellow existence — in the months since her history-making Eras Tour came to a close in December and Kelce wrapped up the football season in February.
“[They’re living] their life very normally and she’s just kind of a regular NFL girlfriend, and he’s supporting her,” an entertainment industry insider told The Post.
While they had to hop private jets around the world to spend time together during the Eras Tour, they’ve loved “laying low,” the source said.
Unlike the many A-Listers who have spent the summer cavorting on yachts in the Mediterranean, Swift and Kelce have been growing closer, attending rustic weddings and caring for ailing family members together.
In June, they went to the wedding of Kelce’s cousin, Tanner Corum, on a farm in Knoxville, Tenn., happily swaying to the music in the background as the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance.
They spent much of the following month in Boca Raton, Florida, where Kelce rented a $20 million mansion for his off-season training and so the pair could be close to Taylor’s father, Scott Kingsley Smith, who required a sudden, serious heart operation.
“He actually had a quintuple bypass surgery, and that’s a really intense surgery. That happened really quick,” Swift said this week on the “New Heights” podcast that Kelce co-hosts with his older brother, former Philadelphia Eagles Center Jason Kelce. “He is doing incredibly well.”
The couple’s relative normalcy was on full-display in the revealing, two-hour podcast. While the episode included Swift’s internet-rattling announcement of a 12th album — “The Life of a Showgirl” — and its cover art, the insight into the mundane aspects of their life together was just as notable.
“She gave her fans full access to the relationship that everyone is talking about,” Clayton Durant, Adjunct Professor of Music Business at Long Island University’s Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment told Page Six of the unprecedented podcast. “It was the most accessible [album] release that she’s ever had, in terms of the way she communicated.”
Swift admitted to knowing little about football before she began dating Kelce in September, 2023, but swooned that she’s now “obsessed” with the sport.
Travis replied he was “forever thankful” to Swift for “diving into the football world wholeheartedly.”
The songstress also detailed how she and Kelce began dating, calling him a “human exclamation point,” and got vulnerable about reclaiming the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums.
Kelce was playing video games when Swift burst in to tell him that she’d gotten her masters back. The NFL star said the moment brought him to tears.
On a less dramatic note, Swift said that she’s in her “sourdough era” and has spent much of the past few months making bread, quipping “All my hobbies could be categorized as, like, hobbies you could have had in the 1700s, you know?”
She also noted that mom Andrea Swift recently had a knee replacement.
“This was just, like, the summer of my parental upgrades,” Swift said. “We’re upgrading the parents, making sure that they live to be at least 186 years old, because they’re two of my best friends.”
Of such moments on the pod, Durant said, “There’s no type of press release or campaign you could run that would give you that level of authenticity.”
He added, “You saw those interpersonal moments of Travis really showing the deep authentic love he has for her.”
Those who have seen the pair out and about in recent months say the relatable vibes are far from an act.
The entertainment industry insider told Page Six that in March they showed up at Noko, an East Nashville sushi bar, without reservations — or an expectation of special treatment.
“They sat at the bar instead of a regular table,” the source said. “They were like, ‘I’m so sorry we showed up without reservations. We didn’t realize they were so hard to get.’ … They tipped 200% on their bill — they felt bad.”
The insider, who is based in Nashville, said the couple has been out a fair amount in Music City of late and has seen them at restaurants.
A waiter at another popular spot told them that Swift and Kelce came in with a reservation, asked for a seat at the back if possible, but didn’t make a fuss.
“That’s just how they approach the relationship – if they want to go to dinner, they want to go get coffee they want to go to the gym, they can do it – if they get photographed or someone sees them, great, they’re not going to not do what they want to do,” the source said.
In Leadwood, Kansas, a suburb just outside of Kansas City, where the Chiefs All-Star owns a $6-million home, the insider said the couple has also been intent on acting like a normal pair.
“They would take walks in the neighborhood — until the neighbors sold the footage to someone — they would take walks, which is so unheard of,” the insider said. “Normal couples go for walks in the neighborhood and they were like, ‘okay we’ll do it too.’”
They added, “Taylor’s always said if she tries to hide it’s harder and it makes the pictures worth way more where as if she’s just out in the open they’re just living their lives” and “Taylor’s very aware that her life isn’t normal, but she can control what she can control.”
After a somewhat chill summer, the high wattage pair has anything but a quiet fall ahead.
Swift’s new album is due out October 3 and will include 12 tracks, including a song featuring pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter.
“It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt,” she said of the upcoming release.
After a heartbreaking Super Bowl loss and contemplating retirement, Kelce will be returning for his 13th NFL Season with the Kansas City Chief. His “New Heights” podcast was licensed by Wondery last year for a whopping $100 million, and when he does retire from the game, he has a bright future ahead in broadcasting and entertainment.
He graces the cover of the September issue of GQ in a giant fur hat. In the pages within, he opens up about dating Swift and how thrilling it has been to be her plus one and to date someone who really understands what it’s like to live in the spotlight.
But, the three-time winning Super Bowl champ also told the magazine that they’re not that different from other blissfully happy young couples.
“When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love,” he said. “Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people.”
