Sarah Jessica Parker Shares BTS Details About BFF Andy Cohen’s AJLT… Cameo — Including Why They ‘Did a Lot of Takes’

Sarah Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen are one dynamic duo!

The actress, 60, shared some behind-the-scenes insight into how her BFF’s cameo on And Just Like That… came to be when she took part in a Q&A hosted by Threads at il Buco al Mare in Amagansett, N.Y., on Aug. 11.

“[Series co-creator] Michael [Patrick King] and I, either talked in person, or he just talked to me on the phone and said, ‘I have an idea. There’s a shoe salesman, and it should be Andy,” Parker recalled.

Explaining that she fully agreed, Parker said King, 70, called the Watch What Happens Live host, “and Andy said yes immediately.”

Cohen, 57, made the cameo in a season 3 episode of And Just Like That… as a shoe salesman named Daniel.

The Bravo star previously appeared onscreen alongside Parker over 20 years ago, when he played a similar — but then-unnamed role — in a season 6 episode of Sex and the City.

Cohen announced his return to the Sex and the City-universe through a July Instagram post, in which he shared photos of himself from both appearances.

“How it went … how it’s going! Thank you Michael Patrick King for bringing back the BELOVED character of ‘Barney’s Shoe Salesman’ … who is now a Bergdorf’s Shoe salesman named DANIEL!” he wrote in his caption.

During her Q&A, Parker recalled all the fun she and her longtime friend had during their latest onset collaboration.

“I don’t know if there’s any footage of the day that he shot, [but] it was really, really, really early in the morning,” the mother of three said.

Further explaining that Cohen “was so excited” to be a part of the series, Parker playfully teased, “We did a lot of takes. He was very enthusiastic. He was adorable.”
