Maren Morris Says Fan ‘Grabbed My Ass’ at Meet-and-Greet: ‘Don’t Override Someone’s Personal Space’

Maren Morris is speaking out after she was allegedly groped during a recent meet-and-greet with her fans.
“Hi y’all. Tonight’s show was so fun, but someone grabbed my ass during [the] meet-and-greet before the show,” Morris, 35, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, August 22, without identifying the individual. “I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone.”
Morris further offered fans helpful tips if they purchase a meet-and-greet package in the future.
“Please know I’m there to connect, share, hug [and] all the things,” she wrote. “But, please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”
Morris has been performing her Dreamsicle Tour this summer, stopping in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Friday.
“Grand Rapids, MI, Thank you for a beautiful garden venue, a perfect sunset and for selling the damn show out,” she wrote via Instagram several hours later. “We can’t wait to come back.”
Morris released her latest album, Dreamsicle, in May.
“It’s actually, to me, what happens after divorce,” the musician told The Cut of her musical inspiration. “I’m not documenting what happened during the relationship. I’m documenting the grief, anger, and sadness that follows, and the vulnerability of putting yourself back out there again … of reconnecting with your female friends and yourself.”
Morris split from then-husband Ryan Hurd in 2023 after five years of marriage. The two country singers finalized their divorce in 2024, agreeing to share joint custody of 5-year-old son Hayes.
“We’re over a year out now … [and] we get along now and have moved past a lot of it,” Morris said on Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” podcast in June. “We’re neighbors, and I’m just so fortunate that we have put our son above each other’s s***, and it’s better for the two of us if we’re getting along.”
She continued, “I’m lucky that we love each other so much still. We have the highest respect, but also there is that devastation that two people [who] love each other that much can’t make it work in the real world. It’s always going to be multifaceted. We have the highest respect, but also there is that devastation that two people [who] love each other that much can’t make it work in the real world. It’s always going to be multifaceted.”
Morris, who publicly came out as bisexual after their divorce, further stressed that she and Hurd, 38, are “great coparents.”
“We’ve let each other go in that romantic sense, even though we still have so much love and history,” Morris added. “The person you marry is not the person you divorce, and … just the hardest part is knowing that it’s not the same.”
