- Her red carpet appearance comes days after she touched down in Venice wearing a cardigan with director Luca Guadagnino’s face on it
Julia Roberts is radiant as ever.
The actress stepped out for the red carpet premiere of her new film, After the Hunt, on Aug. 29 at the Venice Film Festival — her debut at the Italian event! For her big moment, Roberts dressed accordingly, wearing a custom Atelier Versace gown by the Italian label’s new Creative Director Dario Vitale.
The fitted design is made of a navy crepe fabric, featuring a handcrafted damier motif embroidered with black silk thread, according to the fashion house.
Roberts, 57, walked the carpet alongside director Luca Guadagnino and her co-stars, Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri and Chloë Sevigny.
Roberts also wore a Versace by Dario Vitale look to the film’s photo call earlier on Friday.
She teamed a blue tailored wool jacket with striped shirting and dark denim, completing the look with heritage gold buckle belt, woven leather Vienna 95 shoes and a top handle leather bag with Medusa twist-lock.
Roberts served as Vitale’s muse, helping him debut his first designs since taking over at Versace.
When Roberts touched down in Venice on Aug. 27, she did so in a very cheeky cardigan that paid tribute to her film. The actress wore a cardigan plastered with prints of director Luca Guadagnino all over it.
Roberts made the sweater the star of the show by keeping the rest of her look quite casual with canvas sneakers, a black shorts outfit, the Celine Medium New Luggage Smile and dark round sunglasses by LAPIMA.

Roberts has been keeping a low-profile these days, saving her red carpet moments for things that matter. It’s been about six months since her last red carpet appearance.
In February, the Ticket to Paradise actress attended the 50th César Film Awards. Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, Roberts looked glam in a custom Phoebe Philo one-shoulder jumpsuit and Chopard jewelry. Her hair was styled in voluminous auburn waves.
Around the same time, Roberts wore a chic Stella McCartney suit to receive the Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters honor in France. Stewart shared a glimpse behind the scenes on Instagram of Roberts’ big day, writing, “Today, @juliaroberts received the ‘Officier of the Order of Arts and Letters’ by the Minister of Culture of France, one of the highest honors for artists in France. Congratulations Julia!”
In the photos shared, Roberts posed in her suit in Paris. In a close-up shot, Stewart gave fans a look at the actress’ shiny new medal.
After the Hunt is an Amazon MGM Studios production also starring Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield. An official synopsis describes the film as “a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.”
At Amazon MGM Studios’ CinemaCon 2025 presentation in April, Guadagnino, Garfield and Edebiri took the stage at Caesar’s Palace and praised the Oscar winner’s “brilliant” work in the lead role.
Edebiri added that the movie is built to be seen “with other people, to talk about and discuss and just feel.”
