Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner sue Ray J for defamation over racketeering claims
Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner are suing Ray J for defamation after he claimed he’s working with the feds to build a RICO case against the mother-daughter duo.
“Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over 20 years ago, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs’ names and exploit their prominence for personal gain,” the lawsuit obtained by Page Six on Wednesday reads.
In May 2025, Ray J stated in the documentary “TMZ Presents: United States v. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial” that “racketeering charges against the Kardashians would be appropriate,” adding, “If you told me that the Kardashians were being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.”
The R&B singer doubled down last week, telling Chrisean Roc during a livestream that went viral on social media, “The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kim and Kris is about to be crazy. I’m talking about — I’m on the news every day, I’m gonna say a lot of s–t. Anybody that is cool with Kim, they need to tell her now: The feds is coming. There’s nothing I can do about it.”
Ray J, 44, went on to claim that the alleged case against Kardashian, also 44, and Jenner, 69, would be “worse than Diddy.”
In their lawsuit, the “Kardashians” stars argue that Ray J “provided no evidence whatsoever for these explosive accusations,” which they call “blatantly false” and “calculated falsehoods.”
“No such federal investigation exists, no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charged against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations,” their lawsuit further reads.
The reality stars-turned-businesswomen “bring this action to hold Ray J accountable for his calculated campaign of lies and harassment, to put an end to his years-long pattern of exploiting their names for notoriety and to seek redress for the substantial harm his malicious conduct has caused to their reputations, livelihoods and emotional well-being.”
The pair’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told Page Six in a statement, “Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before, nor have they been distracted by noise, but this false and serious allegation left no choice.”
Reps for Ray J did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
RICO investigations fall under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, which is typically utilized to prosecute drug cartels and mob crimes.
In July, rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution but not guilty of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges in a widely publicized federal trial. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Friday.
Ray J — who infamously appeared in a sex tape with Kardashian in the early 2000s — previously slammed her momager for denying that she was the person who publicly leaked the intimate footage.
“YOU f–ked with THE WRONG BLACK MAN krisjenner @kimkardashian,” he captioned a since-deleted Instagram video in September 2022.
“I DONT GIVE A F–K HOW OLD THIS S–T IS!! WHAT YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME IS ALMOST INHUMANE AND FOUL AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL — F–K THIS BEING JUST RACIST — THIS IS WRONG TO DO TO ANYBODY — YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST F–K PEOPLE OVER AND GET AWAY WITH IT FOREVER!!!”
