Pamela Genini Dead at 29: Italian Model Was Reportedly Stabbed 24 Times by Her Former Partner

Italian model Pamela Genini was found dead after allegedly being stabbed 24 times by her former partner Gianluca Soncin.

Genini is believed to have been murdered by Soncin, 52, on the evening of Tuesday, October 14, according to local Italian newspaper, Il Fatto Quotidiano. She was 29.

Neighbors reported hearing screams and desperate pleas for help coming from the Milan apartment where she was attacked, with some claiming they “tried to break in” to rush to her aid. They alleged to have witnessed the stabbings on the third-floor balcony of the building, where Soncin reportedly dragged Genini.

Genini was apparently on a call with another former romantic partner when she found Soncin inside her property. He allegedly used a key that he had copied in the weeks leading up to her murder. After hearing her reaction upon seeing Soncin, the second ex dialed 911.

Shortly before she was killed, the police had rung the intercom and Genini answered, saying, “It’s Glovo,” trying to pretend it was a delivery, per the report.

“By the time the officers, along with the firefighters, broke down the apartment door, the 29-year-old had already been fatally stabbed,” according to the translated report from Il Fatto Quotidiano.

Soncin and Genini were allegedly arguing when the confrontation turned violent, Italian newspaper Il Giorno also noted.

Genini allegedly sustained injuries “to the neck, back, chest, upper limbs, and hands, with 24 stabs,” per reports, which noted that she subsequently succumbed to her wounds.

Upon seeing authorities, Soncin allegedly turned the knife on himself and slashed himself twice in the throat, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Giorno, and news agency ANSA reported.

Soncin is being treated for his injuries at Milan’s Niguarda hospital and is said to be in non-life-threatening condition. He now faces charges of murder aggravated by stalking, premeditation and femicide, according to reports. The suspect has exercised his right to silence.

The second former romantic partner reportedly told authorities that the relationship between Genini and Soncin had soured prior to the incident, according to Il Giorno and ANSA, while ANSA states that the pair were still involved but Genini was planning to leave him. The couple had dated for more than a year before her murder.

According to prosecutors, evidence and testimonies from people who knew the model alleged that Soncin had been stalking her. There were also accusations that she suffered physical abuse and threats from Soncin.

Prior to her tragic death, Genini modeled in high-fashion campaigns in Milan and cofounded the swimwear brand SheLux in addition to running a luxury real estate business. She also appeared on the Italian reality dating show The Island of Adam and Eve, per reports.
