Vanessa Lachey Celebrates 20th Joint Birthday with Nick Lachey by Sharing a Throwback Photo of Their First One Together

Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey are celebrating each other!

The couple marked their shared birthday on Sunday, Nov. 9 — with the NCIS: Hawaiʻi actress turning 45 and the 98 Degrees member turning 52.

To mark the occasion, Vanessa shared an Instagram post featuring a throwback photo of the very first joint birthday the couple celebrated together back in 2006. In the photo, she and Nick can be seen cuddled up as they sat at a restaurant table.

“20 Birthdays together. This was our first one, Nov 9, 2006,” she wrote in the caption. “I Love Celebrating & Sharing Birthdays & Life with this man! Here’s to many more Crazy Beautiful journeys around the sun!!! ♥️☀️ Happy Birthday to Us, My Love! 👩🏽‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏼.”

Nick marked the couple’s birthdays with a touching Instagram post of his own. Alongside a photo of the two leaning in for a kiss, he wrote: “Well, this is officially 20 straight years celebrating another trip around the sun with you!! Truly, it is so special each and every time we get to wake up and whisper Happy Birthday to each other.”

He added: “Here’s to many more together babe! Happy, Happy Birthday @vanessalachey. I love you madly.”

The couple first met on the set of MTV’s Total Request Live, where Vanessa, born Vanessa Minnillo, was a host, while Nick regularly made appearances with his band.

Following his split from Jessica Simpson, Nick started dating Vanessa in 2006. They got engaged in 2010 and then married a year later.

Nick and Vanessa are parents to three children: sons Camden and Phoenix, plus daughter Brooklyn.

The couple currently hosts Love Is Blind on Netflix together.

Last month, while chatting about their work on the hit reality series, Nick told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that he is glad he and Vanessa began their romance before modern dating.

“Thank God we found each other before dating apps, because I wouldn’t have a chance,” he said. “This is not just lip service. I really, really do think we would have ended up together, because in large part, that’s how our relationship started — with a lot of very, very long telephone conversations back in 2006 and those kinds of questions: ‘Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What are your dreams? What do you want from your life? What do you want from a relationship?’ ”

As Vanessa added that they also have “the same sense of humor,” Nick agreed, stating, “I think we would have gravitated to each other.”

“I mean, look. Obviously I knew she was gorgeous, I’m not gonna pretend I didn’t know what she looked like, but I do think that in the pods, we would have found each other, because our hearts are meant to be together. It would have worked out,” he added.
