Eva Victor couldn’t be more excited to share the screen with Pedro Pascal in their upcoming film, Behemoth!

“Pedro is like a walking heart. He is so kind, so warm, so funny. He’s just so charismatic, it’s insane,” Victor, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Gotham Awards on Monday, December 1. “I feel really lucky to get to be in his orbit and, you know, as an actor, all you really ask, all you really pray for is you get to feel like you are being truthful and that you are feeling safe.”

Victor added that working with Pascal, 50, and director Tony Gilroy helped them gain perspective on how to lead on and off screen.

“Both Tony Gilroy and Pedro have been insane inspirations to me for how to run a set, how to be a leader on set,” they shared. “So it’s a total dream come true.”

While Victor can’t reveal any details about Behemoth! they teased the film is “going to be awesome.”

Behemoth! is an upcoming drama starring Victor and Pascal. Additional cast includes David Harbour, Olivia Wilde, Matthew Lillard, Alexa Swinton and Margarita Levieva. According to the film’s synopsis, the movie will follow a musician who comes from a family of performers amid their return to Los Angeles. A release date has not been announced.

Victor was in attendance at the Gotham Awards as their movie Sorry, Baby was up for Best Feature and Best Original Screenplay. (Best Feature ultimately went to One Battle After Another while Jafar Panahi took home Best Original Screenplay for It Was Just an Accident.)

In addition to writing and starring in Sorry, Baby, the movie served as Victor’s directorial debut. Sorry, Baby stars Victor along with Naomi Ackie, Louis Cancelmi, Kelly McCormack, Lucas Hedges and John Carroll Lynch. The film follows a literature professor named Agnes (Victor) who struggles with depression following a sexual assault. Agnes also learns that their friend is pregnant via a sperm donor.

Victor opened up about their inspiration for creating the movie in a November essay for the Los Angeles Times.

“There was a time in my life when I was looking for a film about going through a trauma that held my hand while I was watching it,” they wrote. “I didn’t want the film to scare me with violent images or harsh words that shocked my system and shut me down — I wanted the film to hug me tight without shying away from the pain of it all. I needed the film to care for me, the person who’d been through the difficult thing. I didn’t need a film that existed to teach people how bad it is to go through a bad thing, I needed a film that existed to make me feel less alone.”

The Gotham Awards 2025 were full of unforgettable moments — including some that made us do a double take. The ceremony, which was sponsored by FIJI Water, took place on Monday, December 1, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, honoring some of the most talked-about films of the year, including Guillermo del Toro’s […]

Victor explained that Sorry, Baby was a “love letter to the intimate friendship that can save your life when things are mind-bendingly painful.”

“It’s a film about one person’s attempt at healing over five years, and the small moments of joy that act as rebellion in the aftermath of a trauma that feels like it’s trying to keep you lonely and outside of the world,” they continued. “So the structure became about the journey of the two friends’ relationship — the beginning a joyful reunion, the middle a pivotal moment of care that brings the two friends eternally close.”

As for what Victor wants to do next, they’re keeping their options open for the right project.

“I am seriously day by day right now. You wouldn’t even believe the way I was looking at my calendar. I was like, what time do we leave?” they told Us on Monday. “Like it’s that kind of thing. That said, I look forward to resting a bit and then getting back to the page.”
