The Night Manager Season 2 Release Schedule: When Do New Episodes Come Out?

Almost a decade has passed since Tom Hiddleston played military-officer-turned-hotel-manager Jonathan Pine. But on Jan. 11, the British actor will reprise his Golden Globe-winning role in the long-awaited season 2 of The Night Manager on Prime Video.

“I’m 10 years older, [I’ve got] a few more scars on the inside, a few more scars on the outside,” the Loki star told The Hollywood Reporter in December 2025. “I’ve more life experience and more of my own curiosity about the world and the way it is, and I want it to be more courageous, actually, [and] about investigating the soul of this man.”

The Night Manager premiered in 2016 as an adaptation of John le Carré’s 1993 spy thriller novel of the same name. Because there was only one book, the show was billed — and written as — a miniseries. Screenwriter David Farr said there “was never a discussion of more” until the show became a huge, award-winning hit.

“There was appetite for a sequel,” he told The Guardian in December 2025. “I wasn’t feeling it. People probably thought I was mad but I didn’t want to mess it up by knocking up a second one.”

Though le Carré gave Farr his blessing to continue Pine’s story before he died in 2020, the screenwriter didn’t have a vision for a second season until it came to him in a dream. Now that that long-gestating idea is finally becoming a reality, fans are eager to know when they’ll be able to watch it unfold.

When does season 2 of The Night Manager premiere?

The second season of The Night Manager premieres on Jan. 11 on Prime Video. According to the official log line, Jonathan (Hiddleston) has buried his past and is living as a low-level MI6 officer in London under a new alias.

“His life is comfortingly uneventful,” the synopsis reads. “Then one night, a chance sighting of an old Roper mercenary prompts a call to action and leads Pine to a violent encounter with a new player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva).”

Along his journey, he meets businesswoman Roxana Bolaños (Camila Morrone), who reluctantly helps him infiltrate Teddy’s arms operation in Colombia, where he’s “plunged deep into a deadly plot involving arms and training of a guerrilla army.”

The logline concludes, “As allegiances splinter, Pine races to expose a conspiracy designed to destabilize a nation. And with betrayal at every turn, he must decide whose trust he needs to earn and how far he’s willing to go before it’s too late.”

How many episodes are there in The Night Manager season 2?

There will be six episodes in the second season of The Night Manager, which was the same number featured in its debut season. Executive producer Stephen Garrett told the Irish Times in January 2026 that when they were making the first installment, le Carré had been “absolutely emphatic” that there would be no season 2, so they were to treat it like “a six-hour movie.”

However, Hiddleston said that the author’s tune about the future of Pine’s story changed after seeing the show.

“The man himself suggested, with a twinkle in his eye, that perhaps there might be a way to tell more of this story,” Hiddleston told the outlet. “We all knew there was no more novel to adapt, but that was when I thought, ‘Okay, there is a whisper here.’ ”
