Travis and Jason Kelce Weigh In on ‘Devious’ Mom Donna’s Early ‘Traitors’ Elimination
Travis and Jason Kelce are still mom Donna Kelce‘s biggest fans despite her early elimination from The Traitors season 4.
“For my stamp of the week, I’m keeping it in the family. Dude, I’m going Mom all day. Did you watch this?” Travis, 36, said during the Wednesday, January 14, episode of his and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast. “I was so proud of her, man. She looked like she was having a blast, enjoying it all.”
Travis praised Donna, 73, for how she adapted in the castle after being selected as the show’s first Secret Traitor.
“[She] showed everybody what she’s got. It was just so cool to see her in this moment,” he said. “Shout-out to my guy Ron Funches for sticking by her side and being kind to her. … I’m sure he probably felt a certain way after he found out she was the Secret Traitor.”
When season 4 of the Peacock reality competition series premiered Thursday, January 8, Donna entered Alan Cumming‘s castle with Real Housewives including Lisa Rinna and Dorinda Medley, Olympians Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, Survivor legend Rob Cesternino and more.
In a new twist, Cumming, 60, dubbed one contestant the Secret Traitor — in front of the entire cast — before anyone even stepped foot in the turret. Some of Donna’s costars later grew suspicious of her behavior, leading to her being banished and revealed as the Secret Traitor in episode 3.
“It was just so fun to see her out there, living out her dream, giving the world a beautiful message about being fortunate enough to do these things at her age and where she is in life, and it’s just so cool to see her live in that moment, man,” Travis gushed on Wednesday. “She stood her ground at the roundtable.”
Jason, 38, was also impressed with Donna’s “fantastic” game play, noting that she could have been an “easy target” as someone without experience on other reality shows.
“I thought Mom did a great job, I loved watching her,” he continued. “She was way more deceitful and devious than I thought Mom could ever be, which was surprising.”
The Kelces have been candid about Donna’s Traitors experience since she was announced as part of the season 4 cast last year. While she may have been a novice to the world of reality competitions, Donna had a surprising advantage thanks to Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift.
“The contestants, the players, talk about it quite a lot,” Cumming said during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “[They were like], ‘I’m a bit worried about the Swifties. What they’ll do if we [kill her].’”
Cumming teased that the threat of danger from Swift’s devoted fans made things “quite fun” in the castle, joking, “It’s another added layer of menace.”
Fellow Traitors season 4 cast member Caroline Stanbury previously admitted to Us Weekly, however, that she wasn’t so afraid.
“I have to say the only thing was, everyone was so scared to go up against [Donna],” she told Us at BravoCon 2025. “They’re like, ‘The Swifties!’ And I, well, I’ll do it. I mean, I don’t live in America. Cancel me now.”
The Traitors airs on Peacock Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
