Fans call out Candy Spelling for edited magazine cover
Candy Spelling was compared to influencer Trisha Paytas in a dramatically age-defying new magazine cover photo.
The “Selling Spelling Manor” star, 80, was pictured in a glowing, seemingly edited portrait on the cover of Westlake Malibu Lifestyle magazine’s February/March 2026 issue.
In the photo, the widow of the late Aaron Spelling struck a thoughtful pose and wore a white blouse with a massive floral embellishment on her left shoulder.
She styled her blond hair in feathered loose curls and rocked an elegant makeup palette — including a bright red manicure.
The cover touted “Three fascinating life chapters” on the mom of two — and it immediately drew comparisons to much-younger Hollywood personalities.
“Is Candy in the room with us? It looks like @trishapaytas” one person wrote, referencing the 37-year-old.
“I thought this was the gorgeous queen of Potomac @gizellebryant,” another remarked, with a third joking, “Khloe Kardashian looks incredible.”
Another chimed in, “I thought it was Rihanna at first.”
Others were perplexed by the apparently heavily edited image, with one person exclaiming, “What in the world.”
“Totally untouched photo :)),” another wrote.
Still, others lavished the socialite with praise for the photo, with one noting her “commanding presence” and another complimenting her “style overload.”
“Very beautiful 😍 🤩 👌,” one social media user gushed. A rep for Spelling did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Candy — who is the mother of “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Tori Spelling, 52, and Randy Spelling, 47 — recalled her legendary TV producer husband and his talents in a wide-ranging interview with the magazine.
“My husband was a genius at giving audiences television shows that became a part of American culture,” she said. “There was ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ ‘Dynasty,’ ‘Beverly Hills 90210’.”
Candy said while Aaron — who died in 2006 at the age of 83 — didn’t “necessarily win a lot of Emmys,” he had a skill for producing must-see series.
“He used to say to me, ‘I know how to produce eye candy.’” She added with a laugh, “No pun intended!”
