Jelly Roll Reacts to Wife Bunnie Xo Saying He’s Her ‘Hall Pass’ After 300-Lb. Weight Loss: ‘This Is Big’

Jelly Roll is Bunnie Xo’s husband — and her “hall pass.”

The country star’s wife, 45, shared a video earlier this week referring to Jelly, 41, as her “hall pass” while watching him as a judge on Netflix’s Star Search revival, which premiered on Tuesday, Jan. 20. He reacted to the moment in an interview with Extra on the red carpet at the talent competition series’ live taping the following day.

Reflecting on his recent 300-lb. weight loss, the “Save Me” singer told the outlet, “I feel incredible, dude.”

“My wife put me on her Instagram allegedly as her hall pass. Said, ‘Hey, alright.’ The new hall pass, dude. This is big,” continued Jelly.

Bunnie’s social media video saw her sitting on a couch and staring at the TV alongside the text, “Ummmm I just saw my new hall pass on TV.”

She then turned the camera around to reveal she was watching Jelly on Star Search. “Don’t tell my husband,” she joked in the caption.

Jelly also told Extra he’s felt better in “every way” since the weight loss. “Spiritually, I’ve gotten closer to God. I’ve gotten closer to myself. I’m a better father. I’m more present with my children. You should see it, dude,” he said.

“I mean, I’m coaching my son’s basketball team this year,” continued the artist. “I just feel physically better and I feel like I can physically do it.”

In an interview with PEOPLE at the Star Search taping, Jelly spoke about earning some cool points with Bunnie and his kids Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy from getting to work alongside a certain non-human contestant on the show.

“Listen, there’s a dog next to us on this carpet right now. There’s a dog right here next to us on this carpet. The dog’s name is Tempo,” he said. “The dog gave me an opportunity to shout out my dogs at the house. My wife, daughter, my whole family just lit up about me shouting out our dogs. So I hate that that was the only dog. I hate that was the only dog act because I won’t ever get to shout my dogs out again.”

Jelly judges Star Search alongside Chrissy Teigen and Sarah Michelle Gellar, while Anthony Anderson hosts the show. The next episode airs on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
