Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may be moving to Bahrain: author

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — formerly known as Prince Andrew — could soon be leaving the UK for island life with another disgraced ex-royal, according to a biographer.

Author Andrew Lownie, who penned “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” about Andrew and his former wife (and constant companion), Sarah Ferguson, told Page Six that he hears Andrew will move to Bahrain.

“Certainly, he is likely to go out there,” he said. “He’s going (to) be away from press scrutiny … and it’ll be nice and sunny.”

And he will be in familiar company: abdicated King Juan Carlos I of Spain, who left Spain in 2020 over his own scandals, also lives on the Middle East island in the Persian Gulf.

Andrew and Ferguson reportedly have to leave their longtime home, Royal Lodge, in Windsor Great Park, by January 25, after the two were pushed to move by King Charles amid the ongoing scandal regarding the former prince’s ties to the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But Lownie predicted Andrew will hang around the UK at least for a few more days.

“The shooting season is still on, so I think he’s likely to stay in Britain for the moment,” the author added. Shooting season in the UK is mostly over on Feb. 1.

The Times of London reported that Andrew will move temporarily to a home at Sandringham, King Charles’ English country estate.

But, Lownie claimed, “we’re not going to be told the full story” of what is going on with Andrew.

The author alleged that Andrew was given “guarantees” that when Prince William eventually ascends the throne, “he isn’t going to be thrown under the bus.” William reportedly “loathes” his scandalous uncle.

Lownie also noted that the palace has to deal with Ferguson, the mother of Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35.

Ferguson lost her title, the Duchess of York, when her ex-husband was stripped of his titles. She had used it on the covers of her many children’s, self-help and weight-loss books over the years.

The former Weight Watchers spokesperson has also been tainted by her association with Epstein, who lent her money and whom she visited in New York.

Last year, Ferguson sold a multimillion-dollar London townhouse, and Lownie wonders if that money will be used to support her and Andrew’s new life.

“What’s happened to this $4 million from the sale of the house in Belgravia?” he asked. “Has that gone to the girls, or is that basically passed back to Fergie?”

A representative for Ferguson did not comment. When Page Six reached Buckingham Palace to ask about Mountbatten-Windsor, a representative said they no longer comment for him.

Lownie also criticized Andrew and Ferguson’s inclusion in the recent Christmas post-church walkabout with other members of the royal family.

“Of course, all that did was remind people of the Yorks [Andrew and Ferguson] and link them to the royal family…” the author said. “But the one thing I’ve learned with the royals is, they don’t always do the rational thing.”
