Influencer Kelly Stranick Gets Candid About Feeling ‘Naive’ After Suffering a Miscarriage

Influencer Kelly Stranick got candid with her followers about going through a difficult time.

“This is unfortunately not a pregnancy announcement,” Kelly, 30, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, February 3, alongside a photo of herself and husband Andy Stranick hugging with a pregnancy test. “Last weekend I had a miscarriage. I don’t know why this feels really awkward and embarrassing to share because, as we know, I’m pretty shameless when it comes to what I share, but for whatever reason, that’s how it feels.”

Kelly went on to share that she felt “naive” for thinking she would “have a baby in September” of this year and for telling her friends and family that she was expecting “so early.”

“I always said, ‘Well, I’ll just tell whoever I would tell if I miscarried,’ but boy did I grossly underestimate the uncomfortable press tour of letting those people know ‘hey jk I’m not pregnant anymore disregard,’” she added.

Kelly continued, “Thank God for Andy and for my friends and family who check in without expecting a response, and aren’t expecting me to magically be over it immediately.”

She noted that she was “nervously” sharing the info with her followers because it felt like an “isolating” experience. “When it happened, I immediately remembered a few brave women who had previously shared their experience and it made me feel less alone and less insane,” she wrote. “I know I will be ok. I know we will be ok. I know we will be parents when the timing is right or whatever they say.”

The TikTok star received support from her celebrity friends and family members in the comments section.

“Love you deeply,” Summer House star Amanda Batula wrote, while influencer Eli Rallo added, “Love you so, so much ❤️.” Lexi Hidalgo also commented with heart emojis.

Kelly previously opened up about marrying Andy in 2023, telling The Knot that they met on Hinge and that he was the first man she went out with from the dating app.

In 2022, they took a trip to Newport, Rhode Island, where Andy got on one knee and popped the question.

“Our families were hiding inside while Andy proposed at the lighthouse out back,” she recalled. “I was super surprised, hence why I was wearing Converse, leggings and no makeup. I knew it was coming at some point in the next few months, but I was not expecting it that weekend for sure.”

For her September 2023 wedding, Kelly stunned in a lace-embellished dress featuring a corset top and removable long sleeves. The design was finished with a fitted skirt.

Kelly teamed her dress with sapphire earrings and soft glam, including filled-in eyebrows, dewy foundation, pink lips and long lashes. Her brunette hair was parted down the middle and worn down, styled in soft curls. Andy, for his part, looked sharp in a black suit and bowtie.
