Hilary Duff was “ready” to explore her “complicated” family dynamic in her new album as her feud with sister Haylie Duff continues.

During a new interview with Glamour, Hilary, 38, made rare comments about her rifts with Haylie, 40, and her father, Bob Duff, and why she wrote about it in two of her new songs.

“That’s my family. Those are the people that affect you the most, take up the most space naturally as a human who’s born into something,” she told the outlet.

“Just because you’re born into a family doesn’t mean that it always stays together,” the “Lizzie McGuire” actress continued. “You can only control your side and your street.”

Hilary acknowledged that she”s “had a very complicated life” and said that her parents, Bob and Susan, who got divorced in 2008, also have “a very complicated” dynamic.

“I know it’s not rare, and I think it goes back to the theme of, Why share now?” she stated. “I guess I just felt ready.”

On the track “The Optimist” from her new album “Luck…or Something,” Hilary sings, “I wish I could sleep on planes, and that my father would really love me.”

Hilary’s parents went through a years-long legal battle before they officially got divorced after 20 years of marriage.

Bob was even briefly jailed in 2008 for contempt of court for selling family assets without approval.

At the time, he blamed his daughters’ careers for the dissolution of his marriage.

“Susan was very consumed with the girls’ careers…We simply grew apart,” he told Inside Edition.

He also admitted, “I was unfaithful to our marriage. I feel very badly about that and the effect that it had on the girls.”

Hilary, 38, chose to give rare insight into her estrangement from Haylie, 40, on another new song, “We Don’t Talk.”

She sang at London’s O2 Shepherd’s last month that she isn’t “sure what happened” to cause the rift, which she refers to in the song as an “emotional eviction.”

“Not even sure what it was about,” the lyrics also state. “If I did something different / Would you feel something different? / Would you at least let me hear you out?”

The Duff sisters have not been pictured together since 2019 and haven’t interacted on social media in recent years.

Haylie recently made headlines for “liking” Ashley Tisdale’s post for her scathing essay in the Cut exposing her “toxic” mom group — which included Hilary.

The “7th Heaven” actress later enjoyed a dinner outing with Tisdale and their respective families in Malibu, Calif.

Neither Duff sister has publicly addressed the reason for their falling out.
