What Is Megan Moroney’s New Song ‘Wedding Dress’ About? Breaking Down the Lyrics
The release of “Wedding Dress” has been a long time coming for Megan Moroney fans.
“Had they not been constantly bugging me about it, it probably wouldn’t have made the record, just because I’m so past that feeling,” Moroney told People of the tune during a November 2025 interview. Now, she hopes that listeners “crash out to it.”
The track — which she revealed was initially written during the era of her debut album, Lucky — was included on Moroney’s third record, Cloud 9, released on Friday, February 20.
“What if the missing you don’t ever go away? / What if you’re burned into my brain? / Heart’s already made up its mind,” she sings on the chorus. “And what if I find somebody new / And I’m about to say, ‘I do’ / Then out of the blue, I think of you? / Hell, what a mess / So, let me miss him now / But God, don’t let me miss him in a wedding dress.”
Moroney fans are familiar with the track, especially if they’ve followed her music career from the start, but now the tune will be accepted by a wider audience with the newly released studio version.

Moroney confirmed that she rewrote the song’s verses ahead of this record, which made her want to release the song.
