Cher’s Son Elijah Blue Allman Arrested for Alleged Assault, Criminal Trespassing at New Hampshire Prep School
Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman has reportedly been arrested for alleged assault and criminal trespassing.
Allman, 49, was arrested on Friday, February 27, after allegedly causing a disturbance at a New Hampshire prep school, according to multiple media reports. A spokesperson for the Concord Police Department told TMZ that the school reported an unwanted guest on the premises, who was allegedly “causing a disturbance and acting belligerently.”
Elijah, Cher’s son with the late Gregg Allman, was reportedly charged with two counts of assault and one count each of criminal trespass, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct in connection with the alleged incident. TMZ further reported that Elijah was released later that day on a personal recognizance bond.
A personal recognizance bond is an agreement where an arrested individual doesn’t have to pay bail on the promise he or she will appear for all future court dates. TMZ and People also claimed that Elijah has no connection to the school and an investigation is ongoing.
Cher, 79, has not publicly addressed the incident. Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for the iconic musician for comment.
Elijah was recently rushed to a medical facility in California in June 2025, where local law enforcement officers claimed he was acting erratically.
“While it is true that Elijah has faced personal challenges in the past, one constant has been his unwavering commitment to sobriety and his loyalty to those he loves,” Elijah’s estranged wife, Marieangela King Allman, told People in a statement. “Like many, he continues to confront his inner struggles — but it is important to recognize that he does so from a place of strength, not defeat. Despite the assumptions that often color how his journey is portrayed, the reality is that Elijah remains grounded, focused and deeply committed to living with integrity and purpose.”
Marieangela continued, “I want to state, without hesitation, that I will always root for him. My support is steadfast and comes from a place of deep respect for the person he is and the resilience he continues to show.”
Elijah and Marieangela were married for 11 years before Us confirmed in April 2025 that she filed for divorce. Elijah previously filed for divorce in 2021 but dismissed his petition when the then-pair briefly reconciled.
“Marieangela has always been [Elijah’s] rock,” her lawyer, Regina Ratner, told Us in January 2024 of the pair’s reunion. “[She] has only been a stabilizing force for him. [They are] working on their marriage.”
One year earlier, Cher filed for a temporary conservatorship over Elijah’s estate in 2023 following his alleged substance abuse and mental health struggles. In court documents obtained by Us, Cher claimed that her son was “substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.” She was also allegedly concerned that Elijah would spend his entire inheritance from Gregg, who died in 2017 at age 67, on drugs that would leave his “life at risk.”
A judge denied the “Believe” singer’s petition in 2024, ultimately ruling that Elijah was able to manage his finances, “has an apartment” and “remained drug-free” after submitting to multiple drug tests.
Cher is also mom of son Chaz Bono, 56, whom she shared with late ex-husband Sonny Bono.
