Val Chmerkovskiy was hospitalized for vertigo during the “Dancing With the Stars” live tour.

The pro dancer shared an Instagram video over the weekend, breaking down the “small hiccup” he was experiencing.

“I’ve just being having vertigo for the last couple of days,” the 39-year-old explained to his followers. “I had it yesterday and was able to get through the show, and then we ran some tests.”

Chmerkovskiy noted that it felt like he had been “spinning everywhere.”

“That little crystal in your equilibrium — again, I’m learning a lot — once it goes out, it’s really hard to get it back in,” the performer added of his experience with vertigo, which is defined (via Mayo Clinic) as dizziness. “So … on the bus when it’s moving, I woke up and I couldn’t get myself together.”

As for Chmerkovskiy’s potential return, he told fans that he hopes to be back on stage on Tuesday, as Monday is the cast’s day off.

In a selfie subsequently posted to his Stories, the ABC personality sent his “apologies to all the fans that came out … to see” him in Peoria, Ill.

“Thank you to my fellow castmates for rallying,” he continued. “Little bump in the road I’ll be good to go asap. It takes quite literally me not being able to stand on my feet to keep me off that stage. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make it tonight.”

Chmerkovskiy’s fellow “DWTS” pros sent their support in Instagram comments.

“Vertigo is awful I’m so sorry babe. Feel better soon xx,” Sharna Burgess wrote, while his wife, Jenna Johnson, added, “😢❤️‍🩹.”

Season 34 contestant Dylan Efron chimed in, “feeling for you Val, Vertigo is awful. Happened to me right before ‘DWTS’ but it healed quickly. rest up and get those crystals aligned ❤️.”

The “DWTS” tour kicked off in January and is scheduled to run through March 13.

Chmerkovskiy has been part of the show since Season 2 in 2006 but did not become a pro until five years later.

He has since won the mirrorball trophy three times with Rumer Willis, Laurie Hernandez and Xochitl Gomez.

Chmerkovskiy and partner Alix Earle were runners-up during the most recent season, which wrapped in November 2025.
