New ‘Yellowstone’ Rip and Beth show finally gets an update

Home, home on the range. 

On Friday, “Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser gave an update about the Rip and Beth spinoff show on his Instagram: “Dutton Ranch.” 

Hauser, 50, posted an image of the show’s apparent poster and logo, the letters D and R, and captioned it “Here…we…go.” 

The poster simply said “coming soon.” 

The “Dutton Ranch” title was initially buried in a CBS teaser in January, during the Golden Globes, but Hauser’s post confirmed it. The actor previously denied that was the title, telling Fox News in May, “Well, first of all, it’s not ‘Dutton Ranch.’ That’s not the name of it.”

“Dutton Ranch” will follow Rip (Hauser) and his wife, Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly, 48) after the events of “Yellowstone.”

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the hit ranch drama aired on Paramount from 2018 to 2024. The story centered on the Dutton family, including patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his adult children: sons Kayce and Jamie (Wes Bentley), daughter Beth, and her husband, Rip, who was heavily involved in the ranch. 

At the end of “Yellowstone,” Kayce was the only other family member left alive – and he’s in his own spinoff series, “Marshals” (currently airing on CBS and renewed for a Season 2). 

Costner left after the first half of Season 5, amid rumors of a feud with Sheridan. The show handled his absence by killing John off.

Meanwhile, after Jamie betrayed the family, the “Yellowstone” series finale saw Beth kill him in a brutal fight, while Rip was holding Jamie still for his wife to stab him.

“Yellowstone” ended with Rip and Beth seeking a new beginning, on a new ranch. 

Onscreen, they were shown arriving at their new home. Rip commented, “The grass here is good,” while Beth mocked cowboys for being the only people who get “excited about grass.”

Costner is not the only cast member to have behind the scenes drama with Sheridan.

In November of 2023, Hauser’s coffee brand, Free Rein Coffee Company, got sued by Bosque Ranch — which is owned by Sheridan.

The suit claimed that Free Rein uses “a brand mark strikingly similar to Bosque Ranch’s registered trademark, potentially misleading consumers,” according to San Angelo Live.

Both the caffeine company and the ranch use a similar logo, with the letters B and R intertwining.

However, on Dec. 20 of that same year, the suit was dismissed. 

Paramount has not yet announced a premiere date for “Dutton Ranch.”
