Anne Hathaway Blooms in a Show-Stopping Floral Gown With Opera Gloves on the 2026 Oscars Red Carpet
There’s no doubt that Miranda Priestly would approve of Anne Hathaway’s fashion-forward 2026 Oscars look.
Hathaway, 43, who reprises her role as Andy Sachs in the upcoming Devil Wears Prada sequel alongside Meryl Streep’s Priestly, delivered a major style moment at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15.
The actress commanded the red carpet in a black haute couture Valentino gown covered in soft ivory blossoms ahead of the star-studded ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Her dress featured a strapless design and a frame-hugging silhouette that flared into a sweeping train, as well as a structured bodice and statement belt.
Her long black opera gloves added a classic touch of drama. Hathaway completed her look with a fresh-faced glam that enhanced her natural beauty, opting for partially tied up hair that allowed her dazzling diamond jewelry to take center stage. An eye-catching necklace sparkled at her collarbone, complimented by a pair of elegant drop earrings.
Although Hathaway isn’t nominated for an Oscar this year, she is set to grace the stage as one of the star presenters alongside fellow A-listers Demi Moore, Adrien Brody, Zoe Saldaña and more.
“ANNE HATHAWAY HOLY [S***] WHAT A WOMAN HAVE MERCY ON US #Oscars,” one fan sounded off about her look on X. “She’s not nominated tonight but she showed up like she owns the room, because she does,” another posted. “Anne Hathaway was among the night’s most talked about arrivals, proving you don’t need a nomination to steal the carpet.”
When she took the stage to present alongside Anna Wintour, Hathaway asked what the fashion icon, 76, thought of her look, to which Wintour cheekily replied, “And the nominees are…”
Hathaway recently teased that fans can expect to see her character with some major sartorial wins in the upcoming sequel, which hits theatres May 1.
She explained that as Andy’s career expanded, so did her budget and closet.
“People want you to earn your truth,” she said on the March 12 episode of Fandango’s “Big Ticket Podcast.”
“We made sure that we made sure that we did. And so Andy has the closet of someone who worked at Runway in her twenties and then had a job where she traveled all over the world where there are consignment shops,” Hathaway said. Plus, this time around, Andy’s wardrobe will be full of “expensive” garments and items “curated for her by her.”
