Dave Portnoy says Tiger Woods should be put ‘behind bars’ to teach him a lesson about DUI

Dave Portnoy believes Tiger Woods should be placed “behind bars” after his DUI arrest.

The Barstool Sports founder weighed in on the golf legend’s car crash and arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida, last Friday during the latest episode of his “Wake Up Barstool” sports talk show.

“What is wrong with Tiger Woods?” Portnoy, 49, asked his listeners in the episode, which dropped Monday. “You can have somebody drive you. He should have a driver with him wherever he goes. There is no excuse.”

He continued, “When you get behind the wheel impaired, you’re not just putting yourself at risk, you’re putting anybody else on the road and innocent people at risk.”

Portnoy went on to declare that Woods, 50, should be locked up to teach him a lesson about driving under the influence.

“You can’t make light of it, and I have no sympathy for the guy,” he charged. “Put him behind bars. Put him in jail for a little bit and make him wake up.”

Portnoy then told Woods once again to “just get a driver.”

“It’s not hard,” he concluded. “Seriously, you cannot have sympathy for the guy right now. Get a driver, you’re going to kill somebody innocent.”

A rep for Woods did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The golf icon’s DUI arrest last week came moments after Woods was involved in a rollover car crash just blocks from his home.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed during a press conference that the five-time Masters champion “showed signs of impairment” and “refused a urinalysis test” following his scary car crash.

A police report obtained by Page Six revealed that “two white pills” later “revealed to be hydrocodone” were found inside the troubled golfer’s “left side pant pocket.”

While Woods claimed he had not consumed any alcohol or illegal substances before the crash, the affidavit said that he admitted to taking “a few” prescription medications.

As for why the golf great hasn’t hired a professional driver to chauffeur him around, an insider told People over the weekend that Woods “doesn’t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing.”

The source also said that Woods, who was previously busted for a DUI in Jupiter, Florida, in May 2017, “thinks he is fine to drive.”

Portnoy isn’t the first critic who has called out the 82-time PGA Tour winner over his latest crash and DUI arrest.

Former NFL star Emmanuel Acho told Woods to grow up during his own sports talk show over the weekend.

“Tiger, you got too many responsibilities, too much money, too much wisdom, and too many gray hairs to, at this big age, in this big year of 2026, be going to jail for DUIs,” Acho, 35, said during “Speakeasy.”

“How many times are we going to see this happen?” the retired linebacker added. “And I’m tired of making exceptions for famous celebrities.”

Meanwhile, an insider suggested that Woods’ latest DUI arrest could mark the beginning of the end of his relationship with Vanessa Trump.

“If he can’t fix this, she will 100 percent walk,” a source told the Daily Mail of Vanessa, 48, on Monday.
