Breaking Down the Hallelujah Trend on Social Media — And Why Justin Bieber May Be Responsible
If you’re coming across the uplifting hallelujah trend on social media, trust Us — you’re not alone.
In recent days, Instagram and TikTok users have been listing things they love or are grateful for in life and putting the word “hallelujah” after it.
“Finding your favorite beauty product on sale, hallelujah,” one user may write. “Going to the Cheesecake Factory with no wait, hallelujah.”
The innocent — and dare we say positive — trend has grabbed the attention of many celebrities, including Lewis Capaldi, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber.
In fact, Hailey’s husband, Justin Bieber, may just be the man responsible for the trend spreading online. Keep reading to learn all about the internet’s latest obsession:
Did Justin Bieber Start the Hallelujah Trend?
In April 2026, Justin had the opportunity to headline the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, on two separate weekends.
While performing his biggest hits at the concert dubbed Biebercehella, Justin chose to include “Everything Hallelujah” in his set list.
“Let’s take a walk, hallelujah / Sun is out, hallelujah / I’m kissin’ you, hallelujah,” Justin sings. “Dream of you, hallelujah / Look at you, hallelujah / I’m lovin’ you, hallelujah / Everything hallelujah.”
Soon after Justin’s performances, social media users began listing everything they love or are grateful for and adding “hallelujah” at the end, similar to how the Grammy winner does in the song.
How Did Hailey Bieber Participate in the Hallelujah Trend?
After supporting Justin at Coachella, Hailey decided to participate in the social media trend.
“Weekend 2 hallelujah, rhode eye patches hallelujah, sweet treat hallelujah, 9 hours of sleep hallelujah,” she wrote via TikTok on April 19, 2026. “Cozy sweats hallelujah, extra dirty martina hallelujah, love my friends hallelujah.”
What Other Celebrities Are Participating in the Hallelujah Trend?
Hailey’s close friend Jenner chose to give thanks to her brands, children and other things she loves in her video.
“Coffee hallelujah, Kris Jenner hallelujah, spray tans hallelujah, king kylie hallelujah, Stormi & Aire hallelujah, Kylie Cosmetics hallelujah,” she wrote via TikTok on April 23, 2026. “Doing what I love hallelujah, 445 cc hallelujah, my cat hallelujah, drunk cig hallelujah, realizing things hallelujah.”
Capaldi expressed gratitude for fajitas and Love on the Spectrum, while James Charles praised Coca-Cola and falling in the mall.
Even the White House chose to get involved with the trend with its own patriotic video.
“Proud to be American hallelujah, having freedom hallelujah,” the White House’s verified TikTok shared on April 16, 2026. “A secure homeland hallelujah, everything hallelujah.”
