Nikki Glaser roasts Victoria Beckham at Time100 gala
Serious spice.
While hosting the 20th annual Time100 Gala on Thursday night, Nikki Glaser roasted Victoria Beckham over her refusal to smile.
“One of the most impressive people on the list is Victoria Beckham, of course,” the comedian began in her opening monologue, as seen in a video posted by The Hollywood Reporter.
“Oh my god. She was a global pop star, now a serious fashion designer. She’s married to David Beckham. She’s rich, successful, stunning. What’s it going to take to get you to smile? I mean, really, please smile. You’re one of the only British people who should.”
The camera then panned to the fashion designer — who put on a tight-lipped smile, rested her elbow on the table and tried not to break into laughter.
Meanwhile, David, who was seated next to her, was seen chuckling and smiling.
The comic isn’t wrong as Victoria has a lot to celebrate, including the Friday launch of her collection with GAP and celebrating her Victoria Beckham brands at the TIME100 Summit.
However, on a personal note, the Spice Girls alum and soccer star have been involved in a years-long estrangement from their eldest child, Brooklyn Beckham.
Earlier this month, in an article published in the Cut, insiders claimed that Victoria and David have offered to meet the aspiring chef and his wife, Nicola Peltz, in whatever state they wish to fix their fractured family.
The source alleged that whether that be with lawyers, Peltz’s family, a therapist or a mediator, they are pressing to repair the relationship.
However, in January, Brooklyn, 27, issued a scathing statement — making it clear he wasn’t looking to mend any issues.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he penned via Instagram at the time.
Brooklyn went on to claim that the bad blood has been brewing since before he married Peltz in 2022 due to his parents’ distaste for the influencer.
In the shocking social media post, Brooklyn also accused Victoria and David of controlling narratives about their family to the press his “entire life” with “performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships.”
While the Victoria Beckham Beauty founder and athlete — who are also parents to sons Cruz and Romeo and daughter Harper — have yet to address Brooklyn’s allegations, Victoria did make a rare comment about her kids earlier this week.
“We always put our children first,” she insisted while on the “Today” show. “We love our children so much and we’ve always really focused on protecting our children.”
Victoria also praised the “incredible people” she and David surround themselves with during “tough times.”
“Myself and David, we’re so close,” she gushed. “We’re very close to my parents and David’s parents. We support each other through everything that we do.”
