Matthew Perry’s prized ‘Friends’ possessions to be auctioned after actor’s death

Some of Matthew Perry’s prized possessions will be auctioned nearly three years after the actor’s tragic death.

Bids are currently being placed for several of Perry’s personal items, including the pilot and final episode scripts of “Friends.”

The front page of the sitcom’s pilot episode script from 1994 was signed by Perry’s “Friends” co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The same actors signed the front page of Perry’s final episode script in 2004.

Perry’s estate is also auctioning off a 2005 Banksy painting of the “Girl with Balloon,” which is estimated to be worth $800,000, as well as another painting titled “Nola (Grey Rain)” from the same artist that is valued at more than $40,000.

Additionally, Perry’s clothing, his personal guitars, jewelry, and his VHS and DVD collections of “Friends,” as well as other belongings, are all being auctioned.

The items are being sold by Heritage Auctions and the proceeds will go towards the Matthew Perry Foundation, which was established to combat the stigma surrounding substance use disorder.

Perry was found dead in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023. He was 54.

A coroner later announced that the “17 Again” star died from “acute effects of ketamine.”

In addition to the ketamine, the coroner listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects as other conditions that contributed to his death.

In 2024, federal prosecutors charged five people with conspiracy and distribution of ketamine, causing Perry’s death.

Three of the defendants — Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa; drug counselor Erik Fleming; and Dr. Mark Chavez — agreed to plead guilty.

The following year, the other two defendants, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and Jasveen Sangha, also known as the “Ketamine Queen,” pleaded guilty to charges related to Perry’s passing.

Sangha was given the largest sentence out of the five convicted people, receiving 15 years in federal prison for operating a drug trafficking business and supplying Perry’s fatal dose.

Dr. Plasencia was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, while Dr. Chavez was sentenced to eight months of house arrest for cooperating with prosecutors.

Fleming received a sentence of two years in federal prison and three years of supervised release.

Iwamasa is slated to be sentenced next week.

Last December, Perry’s “Friends” co-stars reunited for a charity fundraiser in partnership with the Matthew Perry Foundation.

Aniston, Cox, Schwimmer, LeBlanc and Kudrow were each seen signing a piece of artwork commissioned by the charity.
