Hoda Kotb teases Gavin Rossdale for having a ‘type’ with Gwen Stefani look-alike girlfriend: ‘Kind of weird’

Even Hoda Kotb thinks Gavin Rossdale’s girlfriend, Xhoana X, shares a striking resemblance to the rocker’s ex-wife, Gwen Stefani.

During Monday’s episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna,” Kotb explained to viewers that she saw the recent pics of the Bush frontman and his partner on vacation in Mexico.

She admitted that, like many fans on social media, she thought Stefani was actually the woman in the photos upon first glance.

“I thought, ‘poor Blake [Shelton]‘ –– that’s what I thought for one second. They look exactly the same,” Kotb told co-host Jenna Bush Hager, referencing Stefani’s second husband, Blake Shelton.

Bush Hager, 42, echoed Kotb’s sentiment and agreed that Xhoana X and Stefani look “identical.”

“He has a type,” Kotb, 59, joked of the musician’s taste in women.

Bush Hager then argued that while “most people have a type,” this situation is different, as the ladies Rossdale has dated “dress the same,” wear the “same red lipstick” and have the same blond hairstyle.

“That would be kinda weird –– the same thing. That’s really interesting,” Kotb said.

Bush Hager then noted that if she were Stefani, she would think of the whole situation as “flattering,” because it’d feel like she was the “one that got away.”

Kotb disagreed, reiterating that she thinks it would be “super weird” to see your ex dating a doppelgänger.

The striking similarities between Stefani and Xhoana X became a hot topic over the weekend after Page Six published pics of the singer’s look-alike, 37, vacationing with Rossdale, 58, in Cabo San Lucas.

Rossdale and Xhoana X — whose legal name is Xhoana Xheneti –– looked cozy while hugging and kissing each other during their romantic getaway.

The couple began dating in 2023 and went Instagram-official in March 2024.

Rossdale and Stefani, 54, were previously married from 2002 to 2016 and share three children together: Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10.

The “Rich Girl” singer tied the knot to Shelton, 47, in 2021 after meeting on “The Voice” in 2015.
