Usher reacts to rumors he hired ‘clone’ to perform for him at R&B Tour
These are his confessions.
Usher denied claims that he had a doppelgänger perform some songs for him during night one of the R&B Tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“😂 Ya’ll are funny…clone? They can’t clone this??” he wrote on Instagram, per photos shared online.
“How y’all come up with this? 😂😂😂 AI ain’t that advanced,” the “My Boo” singer added.
Usher’s denial came after fan videos went viral of the eight-time Grammy winner, 47, singing and dancing at his and Chris Brown’s tour stop on Friday.
In the clip, Usher — who was dressed in an all-white outfit, a matching baseball hat and sunglasses — performed his hits “Caught Up” and “Bad Girl,” but fans questioned if it was really him.
Concertgoers were thrown off by the man’s facial features and overall body language onstage.
“That was foulllll🤣😂😭 usher really sent out his doppelganger,” wrote one TikTok user.
The fan wrote atop the clip: “Usher, why’d you have to play us all like that last night?? that is NOT Usher.”
“I’m confused. I see Usher, but then I don’t,” wrote a netizen in the comments section of the viral video.
“Lmaoo that’s gusher,” added another.
“Listen I usually think yall are overreacting but that ain’t nobodies [sic] damn usher Raymond 😂😂,” joked a third person.
A fourth eagle-eyed user noticed that the man performing did not have Usher’s hand tattoos.
“👀 waiiiiit so the real Usher has HAND TATTOOS. A star on each hand between his thumb and index finger in the thenar area,” she claimed.
“I’ve paused and zoomed in on soooo many frames with this area of his hand exposed and don’t see the tattoos. What’s going onnnnnn???? Wish I could upload more than one photo with a comment!”
Last month, Usher made headlines when he kicked a female fan off the stage after she appeared to be uninterested in his serenading skills.
As the pop star tried to get close to the woman during his steamy performance of “Can U Handle It?,” she moved away from Usher.
The woman, who was later identified as Gabrielle Cheyenne, spoke out about the incident, slamming women who had something negative to say.
Cheyenne also clarified that she had “no bad blood” toward Usher but would’ve rather been onstage with Brown, 37.
