Sarah Pidgeon wows in purple Chanel dress on the Emmys 2026 red carpet

Sarah Pidgeon closed her “Love Story” chapter in Chanel.

The actress, 30, shone on the Emmys 2026 red carpet Monday night in a pale purple silk gown by the French fashion house, with pearl-spangled straps and a tangle of chains dripping from the bodice.

The slip-dress silhouette echoed the design Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy famously wore for her 1996 wedding to John F. Kennedy Jr.; Pidgeon portrays the late publicist in Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Love Story.”

Stylist Emma Jade Morrison told E!’s Zanna Roberts Rassi that the Emmys look wasn’t a typical choice for Pidgeon – but is one CBK would “absolutely approve of.”

Pidgeon wore her blond hair — which took more than 20 hours to dye for the role — down in soft waves and finished the look with a diamond camellia lariat necklace.

She skipped the red lipstick that was a signature of the ’90s style icon in favor of a dusky pink.

Pidgeon is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for playing Bessette-Kennedy — her first Emmy nod. It’s one of the tightest races of the night, with Pidgeon up against Claire Danes (“The Beast in Me”), Sally Field (“Remarkably Bright Creatures”), Carey Mulligan (“Beef”) and Sarah Snook (“All Her Fault”).

The actress has been dressing the part off-screen all year. In March, she wore Calvin Klein for the first time at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party — a nod to the American designer who employed Bessette-Kennedy before her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr.

In June, Pidgeon stepped out in Brooklyn with rumored boyfriend Joe Alwyn in a near-carbon copy of the late publicist’s downtown uniform: a white tank top, bootcut jeans, black Repetto flats and a Balenciaga Le City bag.

She also stars in Balenciaga’s fall 2026 campaign, shot across Manhattan by “Past Lives” director Celine Song.

Tonight’s ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, is airing live on NBC and Peacock.
