Ashlee Simpson says âbaby chapter is very much closedâ after 3 kids, wants to birth new album instead
Ashlee Simpson is ready to deliver her fourth studio album — not her fourth baby.
The “Pieces of Me” singer exclusively told Page Six that she and husband Evan Ross are officially done expanding their brood.
“The baby chapter I think is very much closed for me,” the 39-year-old said with a laugh.
Simpson shares kids Jagger Snow, 8, and Ziggy Blu, 3 with Ross and 15-year-old son, Bronx, with ex Pete Wentz.
Although the family of five rarely make public appearances together, they starred on their own reality TV show, “Ashlee+Evan,” in 2018.
However, Simpson said they definitely won’t be making a return to the small screen as that chapter is also “closed.”
“We had fun doing that but I love moming and not having cameras in the house as well,” she said.
While Simpson and Ross have settled into their parenting roles, they’re are also celebrating their 10-year anniversary this August.
When asked how they’ve kept the spark alive, the “Boyfriend” singer explained that Ross just gets her.
“I can be my true self [around him],” she said. “There’s no masking who I am or what I’m going through.”
“He’s that one person that I really have to be my full self with,” she added.
While a fourth baby is off the table for the couple, Simpson revealed she is currently working on new music — over a decade since her last release.
“So this is my baby,” she joked. “We’re working on it. You can definitely be looking forward to that coming soon.”
Although Simpson said the unnamed album “is not coming this summer,” she teased that it’ll be a fresh new sound unlike any of her previous records.
Along with making new music, the “Lala” singer is also celebrating the 20-year anniversary of her “Autobiography” album.
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts after it’s release and became certified triple platinum.
To celebrate the milestone Simpson teamed up with Dairy Queen for the rerelease of the brand’s Brownie Batter Blizzard Treat, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Simpson told us she used to force her touring crew to stop at the ice cream shop while on her tour in 2004 to specifically get the chocolate confection, which she said is like “eating brownie dough.”
