Suki Waterhouse makes rare comments about ‘dark and difficult’ Bradley Cooper breakup

One decade after dating Bradley Cooper, Suki Waterhouse is reflecting on their breakup.

The singer made rare comments about their romance in her August 2024 British Vogue cover story, published Tuesday, calling the split “disorienting.”

She explained, “When something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating.”

Waterhouse, 32, clarified that she is “pretty strong at this point” after “a decade of working [her]self out.”

The model dated Cooper, 49, from 2013 to 2015, with the duo’s 17-year age difference raising eyebrows at the time. (Coincidentally, they were both born on Jan. 5.)

After they called it quits, the actor went on to welcome daughter Lea De Seine, now 7, with Irina Shayk in 2017. He is now dating Gigi Hadid.

As for Waterhouse, she was romantically linked to actor Diego Luna in 2017 before falling for Robert Pattinson the following year.

The couple welcomed a baby girl in March, and the little one made her Vogue debut with the “Daisy Jones & The Six” star.

Looking back on the relationships she had in her “sadistic” 20s, Waterhouse told the magazine “the love [she] experienced [then] was only ever a fetishization.”

She continued, “I think when you only get loved in that way, you only get punished. When you get into your 30s you’re almost instantly afforded a little bit more respect. It’s kind of delightful and shocking at the same time.”

The songwriter swooned over her bond with Pattinson, saying she and the “funny” “Twilight” star, 38, connected over having the “same slight uncomfortable-ness.”

Waterhouse gushed that they “really planned” to start a family together since they were “as ready as [they were] going to be.”

She noted that Pattinson has “a lot of humor” about her exes and didn’t “really give a s–t” when singer Miles Kane messaged her about music because “no one’s better than” him.

While Waterhouse has kept quiet about her and Cooper’s romance in recent years, she did seemingly shade him in January 2022.

“Can’t believe I let someone who looks like me with this filter break my heart,” she captioned a TikTok video, going on to leave a thumbs-up for a fan guessing she was referring to the “Maestro” star.
