Channing Tatum accuses ex Jenna Dewan of ‘delay tactic’ in divorce proceedings
Channing Tatum accuses ex Jenna Dewan of a “delay tactic” in their divorce proceedings.
According to court docs obtained by Page Six, the “Magic Mike” star, 44, claims the “World of Dance” alum’s motion for his legal team at Glaser Weil and Blank Rome to be dismissed is a “delay tactic to prolong our divorce case.”
Tatum’s attorneys say he “has made exhaustive efforts to settle all issues in this matter without litigation” and has made “countless settlement proposals, attended multiple mediations, his attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of a proposed judgment, and he has tried to resolve issues directly.”
Dewan, however, believes her ex’s representatives should be disqualified from the trial due to a conflict of interest. She claims they were involved in selling off parts of his business entities.
In a filing Wednesday, the “Step Up” actress, 43, denies Tatum’s claims and accuses him of trying to “stall the trial proceedings by blocking the release of relevant and material documents regarding ‘Magic Mike’ transactions that Jenna is entitled to receive.”
“In reality, Channing is using every trick in the book to stall this case from getting to a trial. He is depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share of the community estate, and he is prejudicing her every day that this case continues,” the court docs read.
“As long as this divorce case lingers on, he will continue to enjoy the unfair benefit of collecting the ‘Magic Mike’ proceeds without paying Jenna her fair share – something he has been doing for years.”
Dewan also said Tatum’s team should have “disclosed Glaser Weil’s extensive and ongoing involvement with martial transactions related to the community’s ‘Magic Mike’ intellectual property.”
The “Rookie” actress filed for divorce from Tatum in October 2018, citing irreconcilable differences.
The following year, they finalized the divorce but did not work out a property settlement or a custody agreement over their 11-year-old daughter, Everly.
The exes got married in 2009, three years after meeting on the set of “Step Up.”
Tatum has been dating Zoë Kravitz since 2021. In October 2023, People reported that the “21 Jump Street” actor had popped the question to the “X-Men: First Class” actress, 35.
Meanwhile, Dewan moved on with Steve Kazee by the time she finalized her divorce with Tatum. The pair got engaged in 2020.
The actress and the Tony Award winner, 48, welcomed two kids together: son Callum, 4, and daughter Rhiannon, 2 months.
