Nicole Richie bonds with daughter Harlow, 16, about ‘drama with her friends’

Nicole Richie has been traveling down memory lane thanks to her two children, Harlow and Sparrow.

The “Simple Life” alum revealed to Hoda Kotb on the “Today” show Monday that being a mom to teenagers has been her “favorite stage” of parenthood.

“I just so clearly remember being 16 that it’s actually surprising how quickly I can go back there,” Richie, 42, shared.

“When my daughter’s telling me drama with her friends, I go, ‘I remember. Laila Heckmath did that to me.’ I remember first and last names, so it’s fun. It’s wild. And just the best.”

Harlow, 16, and Sparrow, 14, whom Richie shares with husband Joel Madden, made their red carpet debut last week alongside their parents for the premiere of “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.”

“Everyone came, the whole fam came. It was very sweet,” Richie told Kotb.

“They are teens, so they’re pretty chill about it, but they were happy to be there, and they did tell me I did a good job [in the movie]. So I was like, ‘I will take that. Thank you very much.’”

Richie stunned in a black Schiaparelli minidress with a gilded neckline featuring a surreal eye detail, while the Good Charlotte rocker, 45, paired a graphic tee and baseball cap with a jacket and slacks.

The couple’s elder child styled a strapless corset with flared leather pants and sneakers and styled her blond locks with a middle part.

Sparrow, meanwhile, sported black tennis shoes with a black polo and jeans.

Richie’s famous father, Lionel Richie, was also on hand for his daughter’s big night. The “Easy” singer, 74, attended with his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Parigi, and his ex-wife, Brenda Harvey-Richie.

Nicole’s sister, Sofia Richie, did not pose for photos on the red carpet, but she did snap shots from inside the event.

Sofia, 25, is pregnant with her and her husband Elliot Grainge’s first child.
