Gayle King admits she sleeps without underwear because she likes to ‘feel the breeze down there’

Gayle King goes commando at night.

The “CBS Mornings” co-host, 69, revealed that she doesn’t wear underwear when she sleeps during her Thursday appearance on Drew Barrymore’s eponymous talk show.

“I always sleep in a big old ratty T-shirt but I don’t like wearing underwear,” King divulged.

The journalist explained that she likes to “feel the breeze down there.”

Barrymore agreed that sleeping sans skivvies is the way to go — and she has even tried teaching her two kids to get on board with the practice.

“I used to say to the girls — they’ll be so horrified by this — but I was like, ‘You must let it breathe. Let’s take a breathing break,’” Barrymore said.

“With those diapers on you all the time? Nuh-uh. We’re just gonna go on a walkabout and whatever happens happens. And yes, women should feel the breeze.”

The “Charlie’s Angels” actress — who shares Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with ex-husband Will Kopelman — then detailed how she likes to snooze in her birthday suit when she has the house to herself.

“Here’s how I roll. If no one’s in the house, including the kids — they go and stay at their dad’s for the night — I will sleep in the nude,” Barrymore said. “I love it. I lock all the doors and I just parade around like a little jaybird.”

This isn’t the first time King has opened up about her bedtime habits. The broadcaster revealed in 2018 that she only gets a few hours of shuteye a night.

“I tell you, I’m happy if I look at my Under Armour band and it starts with a 4,” she previously said of the activity tracker that logs her sleep in an interview with The Cut.

The editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine explained that she sets her alarm for 3:22 a.m., and has a backup alarm set for three minutes later.

“I wake up, get out of bed, get in the tub, and then the car comes and picks me up at 4:30,” she said at the time. “We go to the studio and do hair and makeup and meetings before the show, and then it’s off to the races.”

Despite her less-than-restful nights, she proudly admitted that she has “never overslept.”

King noted that she can handle her lack of Z’s since her two kids — Kirby and William — are all grown up.

“I always say they’re employed and potty trained — so it’s not like I have to run home to take care of the kids or fix a meal for anybody but myself,” she said. “You know what my dinner was last night? Honey Nut Cheerios with bananas and raisins. I was so proud of myself; cooking is not my forte.”
