Who’s Playing Who in The White Lotus Season 3? A Guide to the Star-Studded Cast Headed to Thailand — and the Eccentric Set of Characters They Portray
Introducing the star-studded cast checking in for The White Lotus season 3.
The HBO series is set to return with its highly anticipated third season on Feb. 16, 2025, with Mike White back as writer and director to oversee another week of sun-soaked drama and chaos. In November 2023, he told Entertainment Weekly that the third installment — which will be set in Thailand — would be “a supersized White Lotus.”
“It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier,” he said. “I’m super excited about the content of the season.”
Natasha Rothwell is the only character returning to the anthology, reprising her season 1 role as spa manager Belinda Lindsey. She is joined by a fresh cast, including Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Isaacs, Leslie Bibb and Walton Goggins.
“These are people that I idolized growing up, and so sharing the screen with them, I had such imposter syndrome,” Rothwell told PEOPLE in September 2024, adding that they all became “so close.”
“You create a family when you do White Lotus,” the actress continued. “This is the thing that I will say is the same as season one: the connections you make on a White Lotus set are legit.”
From their previous roles to what they’ve said about the show, here’s everything to know about the cast of The White Lotus season 3.
Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett
Walton Goggins joins the cast as Rick Hatchett, who is described in the press release as a “rugged man with a chip on his shoulder” on vacation with his girlfriend, Chelsea.
In June 2024, Goggins told PEOPLE that the show was currently in production and that the cast relationships and friendships — both old and new — were “being cemented” thanks to their shared experiences.
“I have a lot of friends that I came into this experience with,” he said. “Leslie Bibb is like a sister to me, and Parker Posey is a dear friend, and Michelle Monaghan — so I knew a lot of people, and people knew people, friends of friends, if you will. Jason Isaacs and all the rest of it, but we’re as thick as thieves this far into it.”
Three months later, Goggins gave PEOPLE an update about the filming process, saying, “It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.”
The Emmy-nominated actor’s previous credits include 2010’s Predators, 2012’s Django Unchained and 2015’s The Hateful Eight. He also starred as the Ghoul in 2024’s Fallout.
Aimee Lou Wood as Chelsea
Aimee Lou Wood takes on the role of Chelsea, a “free-spirit,” who is on vacation with her “on-edge” older boyfriend, Rick, according to the press release.
She first made waves as Aimee Gibbs in Netflix’s Sex Education, before going on to appear in 2022’s Living and 2024’s Seize Them!
Carrie Coon as Laurie
Coon stars as Laurie, one of three friends reuniting on a girls’ trip after having not seen each other in some time.
In August 2024, the actress spoke to PEOPLE about her upcoming role, sharing how “fortunate” she felt to be a part of season 3 — and the good times she had with the cast.
“It was really fun and it was a bunch of grown people drinking out of coconuts and playing [games],” she said of one of their group game nights.
The Emmy-nominated actress has earned nods for her performances in 2017’s Fargo and the HBO series The Gilded Age. She’s also previously appeared in 2014’s Gone Girl and 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn
Michelle Monaghan steps into the role as Jaclyn, another of the three longtime friends reuniting in Thailand for a girls’ trip.
She is known for her roles in 2005’s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which she starred in opposite Robert Downey Jr., as well as 2007’s Gone Baby Gone and 2015’s Pixels.
Leslie Bibb as Kate
Leslie Bibb portrays Kate, the third member of the trio headed to The White Lotus resort.
During a March 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Bibb said that she specifically asked not to speak to anyone from the first two seasons of the series because she wanted to have her own “singular experience” on set.
“It’s such an exciting time,” the actress said, adding that she felt “so lucky” to have White write and direct the episodes.
“He holds you so safe in his hands, and so I just didn’t want anybody else’s stuff,” she said. “I just wanted to have my own, and it’s been a chef’s kiss. … I’m really the luckiest.”
She has previously starred in 2008’s Iron Man and its 2010 sequel, as well as 2009’s Law Abiding Citizen and 2010’s Miss Nobody.
Jason Isaacs as Timothy Ratliff
Jason Isaacs will play Timothy Ratliff, a wealthy businessman on vacation with his wife, Victoria, and their three children: Saxson, Piper and Lochlan.
During MegaCon in Orlando in February 2024, Isaacs remained tight-lipped about his upcoming role, other than sharing one piece of advice he received from White.
“I’ve not been to Thailand before and I got a text from the director saying, ‘Go and sit at the sauna and don’t get out all day and you’ll be prepped for the shoot.’ “
The actor is most known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series. His other notable roles include 2000’s The Patriot, 2017’s The Death of Stalin and 2021’s Mass.
Parker Posey as Victoria Ratliff
Parker Posey takes on the role of Victoria Ratliff, who is on vacation with her husband, Timothy, and their children.
Before jetting off to Thailand for The White Lotus, the actress appeared in 1993’s Dazed and Confused, 2000’s Scream 3 and 2006’s Superman Returns. She also received a 2024 Emmy nomination for outstanding guest actress in a drama series for her performance in an episode of Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Patrick Schwarzenegger as Saxson Ratliff
Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, joins the cast as Saxson Ratliff, the eldest child of Timothy and Victoria, who works for his father’s company.
“To work with Mike White and just to be part of this project was a dream come true,” he told E! News in November 2024. “It was surreal, it was life-changing to learn amongst the other actors.”
The actor began his career with minor roles in 2006’s The Benchwarmers and 2013’s Grown Ups 2, before starring in 2018’s Midnight Sun and the television series The Terminal List and Gen V.
Sarah Catherine Hook as Piper Ratliff
Sarah Catherine Hook plays Piper Ratliff, Timothy and Victoria’s middle child (and only daughter) who is a college senior studying religion.
The actress previously appeared in television series First Kill and is coming off a starring role in Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions. In addition to her upcoming role in The White Lotus, she will also appear in The People We Meet on Vacation, the adaptation of Emily Henry’s novel starring Tom Blyth and Emily Bader.
Sam Nivola as Lochlan Ratliff
Sam Nivola portrays Lochlan Ratliff, Timothy and Victoria’s youngest child who is a senior in high school.
Nivola’s breakout role was as Heinrich in 2022’s White Noise, in which he starred opposite Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig. He went on to appear in 2023’s Maestro and Eileen, and most recently starred as Will Winbury in Netflix’s The Perfect Couple.
Natasha Rothwell as Belinda Lindsey
As the only returning cast member, Natasha Rothwell will return in her season 1 role as spa manager Belinda Lindsey. Her performance previously earned her an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie in 2022.
Rothwell spoke to PEOPLE in September 2024 about reprising her role and shared that her costar Carrie Coon gave her “the best descriptor.”
“She’s like, ‘It’s like putting on a wet bathing suit,’ ” Rothwell said. “You know it fits. And you know, once you get in the water, it’s going to feel wonderful. But it’s also just a little… You’re just like, ‘Wait a minute, does the arm go here? Okay.’ And then you jump in, you’re like, ‘Oh, I know how… I know this.’ ”
Prior to joining the cast of The White Lotus, Rothwell was a writer on Saturday Night Live from 2014 to 2015. She has also starred in 2015’s A Year of Change and the HBO series Insecure.
Lalisa Manobal as Mook
Lalisa Manobal stars as Mook, a resort employee who works as a health mentor for the guests.
Manobal is best known as by her stage name, Lisa, and as a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. She has earned recognition with MTV Video Music Award wins for best K-pop video in 2022 and 2024.
In November 2024, she opened up to Vanity Fair about making her acting debut in The White Lotus, saying, “It was my first time, so I didn’t really know if I would be able to get the role.”
As a Thailand native, she added that she was excited for viewers to “see how beautiful Thailand is.”
Tayme Thapthimthong as Gaitok
Tayme Thapthimthong appears as Gaitok, a security guard at the resort.

Throughout her decades-long career, the actress has appeared in primarily Thai films, including 1975’s Grounded God, 1977’s 1 2 3 Monster Express and 1987’s Nang Nuan. More recently, she starred in the Thai television series In Family We Trust.
