A Broadway mishap prevented Destiny’s Child reuniting at Kamala Harris’ Houston rally

It wasn’t destined to be.
Destiny’s Child was poised to reunite at Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in Houston, Texas, on Friday, but a Broadway mishap halted their reunion, we hear.
Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams “were supposed to officially reunite for the rally” at Shell Energy Stadium to endorse VP Harris for president.
Beyoncé and Rowland made it back to their hometown, but Williams was kept away because her castmate fell ill.
The group, which made mega hits including “Bootylicious,” “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Crazy In Love” and “Say My Name,” broke up in 2006.
Williams is currently starring in previews for the Broadway musical “Death Becomes Her” and Megan Hilty, who appears opposite her, had to drop out of a performance and both stars can’t be out at once.
“So Michelle had to miss the rally,” said a source.
Williams, Hilty and Jennifer Simard play the characters made famous by Isabella Rossellini, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn in the 1992 cult classic film.
We’re told Williams was a hit in the show’s Chicago run, and producers are banking on her to pack the seats.
“They’re particularly strict about allowing her a night off to do other things,” an insider said.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé and Rowland no doubt helped fill the 30,000 seats at Harris’ rally in H-Town, despite not being billed to perform.
“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares about the world our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided, our past or present or future,” Beyoncé said.
Reps did not comment.
