A Giant Wave Pool, Surf Competitions and DJ Sets: Inside the Goldenvoice Surf Club Outside Coachella

While there’s plenty happening on the grounds of Coachella, there’s even more fun to be had outside of the festival — including at a giant pool party nearby downtown Palm Springs.

The Goldenvoice Surf Club, presented by the creators of Coachella and its country counterpart Stagecoach, kicked off during weekend one of Coachella last Saturday, April 12, and ran through Sunday, April 13, at the Palm Springs Surf Club.

The first day of the party included musical performances from Sammy Virji, Chris Lorenzo, Fcukers, Felipe Silva and ATRIP, while the second day featured performances by Sara Landry, Rico Nasty, VTSS, Ay-Lex Song and Kitty Ca$h.

During her performance, Rico Nasty got the crowd going with her Doja Cat collaboration “Tia Tamera.”

Alongside the musical programming, “Expression Sessions” were held in the wave pool, which saw pro surfers including Bruce Irons, Skip McCollugh, Jacob “Zeke” Szekely, Ryan Huckabee and Chance Gaul competing in categories such as best air, best wave and most creative for $4,000 in cash prizes.

When not watching the musical sets or the surf pros in actions, guests could be seen floating down the lazy river, plunging down waterslides, checking out the different brand activations or hopping in the on-site sauna or ice plunge for a moment of wellness.

Fatboy beanbags also offered an escape from the heat with an indoor Restoration House offering AC, free K-beauty products and surprise DJ sets.

The Goldenvoice Surf Club is situated in a perfect spot for people wanting to explore Palm Springs (see more at the Palm Springs Tourism Board’s site) and also hit the festival grounds about 20 miles away. It’s also located in proximity to accommodations like the Lautner Compound, which has four luxury rental units created by famed architect John Lautner in 1947.

The fun continues during weekend two of the Goldenvoice Surf Club, beginning Saturday, April 19, and running through Sunday, April 20, the last day of Coachella 2025. The musical lineup includes DJ sets from Polo & Pan and Maribou State and performances by Ben Böhmer, Josh Conway of The Marías, Eli Brown, Max Styler and Massano.

More surf pros will also compete for prizes during the second weekend of the “Expression Sessions.”

Tickets for the Goldenvoice Surf Club start at $49.
