A$AP Rocky Admits He Was ‘Cold-Hearted’ Before Becoming a Dad, Says He’s ‘Way More Emotional’ Now

Being a parent has changed A$AP Rocky’s heart.

The rapper, actor and father of three — he shares daughter Rocki Irish, nearly 4 months, and sons Riot Rose, 2, and RZA, 3½, with longtime partner Rihanna — opened up about how becoming a father has made him more “loving” in a new interview with W Magazine published Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Speaking with the magazine for its “Best Performances” Issue, the 37-year-old artist — who starred in two films this award cycle, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and Highest 2 Lowest — revealed whether he has become more emotional since welcoming his and Rihanna’s three kids.

“I am way more emotional,” the “Punk Rocky” artist told W. “Before the kids, I was probably cold-hearted. But now I’m a loving kind of fella.”

And his kids aren’t the only ones receiving his affections, Rocky said. “I’ve got a lot of love to give to the world,” he told W.

The rapper also fielded a question about his daughter — whom he and the “Love on the Brain” singer, 37, welcomed last September — in particular. Asked what is “going to happen when somebody tries to date” the latest addition to his family, Rocky responded, “I’m going to pray for them.”

The “Praise the Lord” singer’s latest comments on fatherhood come about a month after he opened up about the sibling dynamic between his sons.

“Well, I’m surprised that the older two [are] getting along as much as they are,” he told Extra at the 35th Annual Gotham Film Awards in December. “You know, usually for them to be so close and age, [they’d] fight a lot, but [we’re] a happy family.”

Rihanna, who also attended the event, gave the outlet an update on the family of five as well.

“The babies are amazing. They’re all getting bigger, and I cannot take it,” she told Extra. “My sons, oh my god, their faces are changing. Their necks are getting longer. I love it.”

A month earlier, at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, Rocky explained that while his sons may get along well with each other, they do become “a little jealous” sometimes of their younger sister, whom he called his “baby twin.”

“Rocki is cuter than ever. You know, she’s my baby twin, so it’s amazing,” he told Entertainment Tonight at the event in November. “I’m happy to be a girl dad at this point.”

Asked how his sons were handling the new addition to the family, he explained, “I think they might get a little jealous from time to time, but they ain’t got to be.”

“It’s a lot of love to go around,” added Rocky, “but it’s going to probably take some getting used to. Shout out to my boys and my baby girl, man. Daddy love y’all.”
