Akon has been booked and released from a Georgia county jail.

According to a booking report by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the “Dangerous” singer was arrested on Nov. 6 on an out-of-county warrant from the Roswell police department in Georgia. He was booked at 9:34 a.m. and released at 3:30 p.m..

Then, according to a separate arrest report, Akon, 52, was transferred to a different facility and rebooked on Nov. 7 at 12:00 a.m.. His rep confirmed to PEOPLE that he was released shortly after.

Akon was arrested over a suspended license, the New York Post‘s Page Six reports. Per the outlet, which obtained the incident report, the warrant dates back to Sept. 10, when a police officer noticed his Tesla Cybertruck was stranded with a dead battery.

As he waited for a tow truck, an officer realized that the “Smack That” singer’s license was suspended for failure to appear in court back in January 2023 — and he was issued a citation, the outlet reports.

“Due to a clerical issue the suspended license should have never been escalated, it was paid but not properly entered into the system. This will be soon rectified in the courts in early December,” a rep for Akon, born Aliaune Badara Thiam, tells PEOPLE.

Akon’s arrest comes two months after his wife of nearly 29 years filed for divorce.

According to a filing obtained by PEOPLE, Tomeka Thiam filed for divorce from the star on Thursday, Sept. 11, citing irreconcilable differences. She listed their date of separation as “TBD,” and said they shared one child, 17-year-old daughter Journey.

She requested joint legal custody of their daughter and requested she have physical custody while Akon gets visitation. She also requested spousal support and asked the court not to award Akon any spousal support.
