Alyssa Milano removes breast implants to let go of body that was ‘sexualized’ and ‘abused’

Alyssa Milano revealed that she had her breast implants removed to let go of her body that was “sexualized” and “abused.”

“Today I’m releasing those false narratives, the parts of me that were never actually parts of me,” the “Charmed” actress wrote on Instagram Wednesday, alongside an image of her in the hospital.

“I’m letting go of the body that was sexualized, that was abused, that I believed was necessary for me to be attractive; to be loved; to be successful; to be happy.”

By removing her implants, Milano, 52, said she hopes her 11-year-old daughter, Elizabella “Bella” Bugliari, never forms “those same unhealthy demands.” (Milano is also mom to son Milo, 14, whom she shares with husband David Bugliari.)

“Now, I want to be clear that many women will find freedom and beauty in choosing their implants,” the “Who’s the Boss?” alum continued.

“What is a false narrative for me may be the exact right thing for them, and I am so happy that we can all find our femininity and peace on our own terms,” she added.

Milano said she is “loved,” “feminine,” “attractive” and “successful,” and none of that was due to her breast implants.

“I will still be all of those things when I wake up and they are gone,” she wrote. “There is so much and joy in that knowledge and freedom in letting go of what was never me in the first place. Today, I’m my authentic self. Today, I’m free.”

Milano then edited her caption to give her fans an update on how she was doing after the surgery.

“Update: I’m cozy in my bed eating the food my mama made me. Thank you for all the kind words. I appreciate the support,” she penned.

The “Commando” star’s comments section was flooded with sweet messages from several celebrities.

“Love you! Your liberation will inspire and liberate others!” wrote singer Nicole Scherzinger.

“I’M THRILLED FOR YOU! The heal is real baby! See you on the lighter side ❤️,” added singer Michelle Visage.

“Happy for you honey,” commented “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter.

Milano has been candid about being sexualized in Hollywood.

In a 2021 interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the mom of two said she was mostly offered roles that required her to be fully clothed.

“In the ’90s, everything was hypersexualized. Those were the roles I was offered,” Milano told host Drew Barrymore.

“Like, it wasn’t interesting for people to hire me to keep my clothes on because that was just Samantha Miceli for 300 episodes,” she said, referring to her childhood role in the ABC sitcom “Who’s the Boss” that ran from 1984 to 1992.

“So, I feel like I did what I had to do to continue working, as sad as that was.”
