Angie Katsanevas Cries Over Shawn Separation in ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Trailer

Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo’s marital woes will be front and center on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 7.

“The most important person here is Elektra if we choose to go our separate ways,” Shawn tells Angie, 52, in the official trailer for RHOSLC season 7, prompting his then-wife to burst into tears at the mention of their teenage daughter.

He adds, “That will crush her.”

Angie and Shawn were married for 27 years before news broke in June that the pair separated. Weeks later, costar Whitney Rose split from her husband, Justin Rose, which was also captured on season 7.

“I don’t know if you and I can move forward in our marriage,” Whitney, 39, says to Justin in a separate scene in the trailer.

Angie and Whitney will return to RHOSLC alongside fellow Housewives Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Meredith Marks, Heather Gay, Bronwyn Newport and “friend of” Britani Bateman. The new season was a particularly difficult time for Mary, 53, whose son, Robert Cosby Jr., died at 23 earlier this year.

“You’ve been my strength. You’ve been like my sidepiece,” Mary tells husband Robert Cosby Sr. in another trailer scene, quickly correcting herself. “My sidekick.”

In a confessional interview, Mary notes that she feels “blessed and grateful” to have Robert Sr. by her side while grieving their only child.

“I could not have gotten through it without you guys,” Mary later is seen telling Angie. “You guys were there for me.”

Mary’s relationship with Angie had gone through challenges last season.

“I think that it’s just very real and raw challenges that friends deal with,” Angie exclusively told Us in July. “She’s going through a lot and I’m going through a lot. There’s a lot of ups and downs. I think that’s every year. It’s not all fun. The honeymoon phase is over as your bond deepens. You’re more honest with each other and you say what you’re really feeling and thinking. We love each other. We love each other deeply.”

According to Angie, season 7 will be primarily focused on the “deep friendships” between the women amid the introduction of newcomer Ashley Quai.

“Quai’s fierce, she’s bold,” Lisa, 51, says in the trailer, noting the former makeup artist is friends with Whitney. “But, we’ve all had lapses in judgment.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns on Bravo Wednesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
