Ann-Margret Approves of Lindsay Lohan Playing Her in a Biopic: ‘She’s Full of Talent’

NEED TO KNOW
- Jamie Lee Curtis is rooting for Lindsay Lohan to portray Ann-Margret in a biopic
- Lohan previously expressed her desire to tell the redhead Swedish-American legend’s story
- Ann-Margret has since confessed that she adores the Disney star
Jamie Lee Curtis has an idea of who should play Ann-Margret in a biopic, and the Swedish-American actress and singer approves!
Curtis, 66, pitched her costar, Lindsay Lohan, to portray the film icon during a Monday, July 28, appearance on Good Morning America to promote Freakier Friday — and Ann-Margret later responded.
“I’m going to out you now to the world — I want her to do the Ann-Margret story,” the Halloween alum told Lohan, 39, on the talk show. “So, every day on Instagram… I find videos of her back in the day, and I send [Lohan] every day videos [of Ann-Margret],”
Following the commentary, Ann-Margret, 84, gave her take on the topic.
“I know that she wants to do that,” the Viva Las Vegas actress told IndieWire. “It just depends on what the dialogue is like. What can I say? I adore her. I think she’s full of talent, and I just would like to see what they can come up with.”
Curtis mentioning Lohan and Ann-Margret as her dream collab isn’t the first time the idea has been discussed.
In November 2024, the Parent Trap star appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen where she gave an update on the biopic.
“Are you working on that? I know she gave her blessing for you to star in it,” host Andy Cohen said at the time.
Lohan confirmed, “We’re working on the story. It’s exciting.”
She went on to say, “It’s gonna be pretty intense. It has to be the way that she wants it to be, so I really want it to be special in that way.”
Portraying the Bye Bye Birdie actress wouldn’t be a biopic first for Lohan, who previously starred as Elizabeth Taylor in the 2012 television film Liz & Dick.
However, she’s remained adamant that to pull off paying homage to the famed actress, everything must be done right.
“She’s a triple threat, and she’s an amazing woman on top of that,” Lohan told Bustle in March 2024 of Ann-Margret. “So I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her.”
The Mean Girls star is currently gearing up for the release of Freakier Friday, the sequel to the hit 2003 film Freaky Friday.
Curtis and Lohan return as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna, respectively, years after they first switched bodies. “Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter,” per a synopsis.
Entertainment Weekly previously reported the plot involving the two ladies switching bodies with two teenage girls.

While they may go through crazy switches on the big screen, the pair is also connected in real life.
“We connected, and we really stayed connected. And that is special and rare for me,” Curtis told PEOPLE of her friendship with Lohan.
Freakier Friday arrives in theaters on Aug. 8.
