Apollo billionaire Marc Rowan and fashion designer wife Carolyn separated, ‘living apart for years’

The billionaire co-founder of Apollo Global Management, Marc Rowan, and his fashion designer wife, Carolyn, have separated, Page Six has learned.

A source tells Page Six that the former couple have actually been separated — and living apart for years — but that there is no plan to divorce.

We hear the split was amicable. 

It is both Marc, 62, and Carolyn’s only marriage and the pair have four adult children together.

The pair have been extremely private, but are known for their philanthropic endeavors and are large political donors. 

Marc is worth an estimated $6.7 billion and took over the fund as CEO after Leon Black stepped down in 2021.

Marc, who’d left the firm before coming back as CEO, also owns several restaurants in the Hamptons including celebrity hotspot Duryea’s in Montauk — famed for its nearly $100 lobster Cobb salad.

Carolyn’s luxe accessories line — which offers items like ostrich feather capes and Swarovski crystal adorned cashmere hats — sells at Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. 

It is unclear whether or not Marc and Carolyn have a pre-nup. Though it seems the wealthy pair is doing a proverbial “Schmidt” rather than a “Paulson.” 

After all, living apart, but staying married is not of unheard of in the billionaire stratosphere in which assets like homes, art, jewelry and complex funds can draw things out expensively and bitterly for years.

The former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, who’s worth an estimated $22 billion, is known as one of New York’s “hottest bachelors” despite famously still being married to his wife, Wendy.

Meanwhile, another billionaire, John Paulson, has been going through a protracted, costly legal war with his ex, Jenny, at the same time he’s moved on and gotten engaged to another woman, Alina de Almeida.

Reps for the couple did not comment.
